Edward Findleton: Welcome everybody to Denver, Colorado for Summit of Success! We've got a huge show tonight, as the World Championship is on the line in a cage match, it's Oden Schreiner vs Douglas Brunswick!
THE Casey Gains: Not just the World Championship, but the Women's and National championships as well. The Iconoclast challenges Kenneth Cobb in a feud that's hit close to home, while Mary Jane Elder tries to prove herself against Kitty Kayleen.
Edward Findleton: And former friends will duke it out, as James Calhoun and Fun Fight Machine take on Rat and The Behemoth.
THE Casey Gains: But first, we're kicking the show off with the tag team division, which will oddly enough be a singles match!
The Musical Lifeguard Chairs came out to a loud roar from the crowd, LaZor wearing a referee shirt. Mr. Lifeguard went over to commentary and took a seat.
Mr. Lifeguard: So fun fact, I get paid more if I actually participate in the show, so I figured I'd join you guys on commentary!
Edward Findleton: Welcome aboard! I feel safer already with a lifeguard around!
THE Casey Gains: Well for some reason I feel we're suddenly in a dangerous spot.
The Strange Crew's music played next, and out came Hawaii, accompanied by Drizzles, who stayed outside at ringside as Hawaii entered. Fergus O'Toole came out next, with Franco. Franco went to the commentary booth and looked for a chair, but found none. He went to the crowd and demanded a chair from a fan, who he pushed down to the ground. Franco grabbed the chair, and saw on the opposite of Lifeguard on the commentary.
Franco: I've been doing this before you, Lifeguard. I can play the sit at commentary game too.
Mr. Lifeguard: Oh yeah, I remember you sitting here when we beat The Men of Power for you, thanks for the wonderful reminder.
Edward Findleton: Calm down everyone..we got a match to call.
LaZor went to Fergus O'Toole and ushered him to the corner. LaZor did a check on Fergus, patting him down. He then went over to Hawaii's corner, and started to pat him down. As he got to his left boot, he stopped, then reached inside, pulling out a large knife that was concealed. Hawaii looked shocked, and LaZor carefully put the knife down. LaZor checked Hawaii's right boot, then reached in and pulled out a small bottle that was simply labeled “Acid.” Hawaii shrugged, and LaZor shook his head as he brought the items to the time keeper.
Mr. Lifeguard: And LaZor is already doing a good job at refereeing! That's a thorough pre-match inspection Franco, you should be thankful.
Franco: Shut up.
LaZor called for the bell, and the match was underway. Some fast paced chain wrestling started the match off, and LaZor kept positioning himself to always see Drizzles and Franco, ready for interference. Hawaii grabbed the rope during a submission hold for a rope break, and Fergus let go just before LaZor counted to five. LaZor started verbally warning Fergus.
Franco: Tell your boy not to worry about Fergus is doing, and not to worry about me, and just focus on the match!
Mr. Lifeguard: He's literally following the rules! Quit whining!
While LaZor was talking to Fergus, Drizzles reached into a pocket, and pulled out a small bag. Hawaii crawled toward the bag and stuck in his hand in it, and Drizzles quickly put the bag under the ring. As Fergus went back to Hawaii, Hawaii threw sand into Fergus's eyes, blinding him.
Franco: Cheating! That's a disqualification!
Hawaii used the opportunity to start an assault on on Fergus. Fergus retreated and rolled out of the ring, still trying to clear his eyes. Fergus was next to the announce table, and Hawaii followed him out. Hawaii grabbed Fergus, and got him in position for a suplex.
THE Casey Gains: No! Not during the first match of the show!
Hawaii lifted Fergus up, but right before bringing him down, Franco stood up and pushed Fergus back the other way, allowing Fergus to land on his feet. Fergus then used his own momentum to lift Hawaii up and deliver a suplex to the floor outside. Fergus then slid into the ring for a breather, as LaZor started a count on Hawaii outside the ring. Fergus finally looked like his eyes were clear around the nine count, just as Hawaii started to crawl into the ring. As Hawaii started to stand up in the ring, Fergus O'Toole delivered a vicious Superkick to Hawaii's head. Hawaii fell to the ground, and Fergus covered him.
LaZor didn't look too happy, and stood still for a moment, before dropping to his knees. LaZor counted to three, and as his hand hit the mat the third time, exited the ring, refusing to stay in and raise Fergus's arm.
Franco: That a boy Fergus! Hey Lifeguard! I'll see you in the ring in a month when I take your titles. Hope you enjoy the retirement home.
Franco took his headset off and went to the ring to congratulate Fergus, while LaZor and Lifeguard dejectedly went to the back.
Edward: We've got out first match set in stone for End of the Trail next month, it's LaZor and Mr. Lifeguard vs Franco Mancini and Fergus O'Toole for the HAW World Championship!
The Iconoclast's music played, and he came out with Viking. As the two were making their way down the ramp, The Insomniac came running down behind them, and smashed Viking in the back of the head with the HAW National Championship. Viking fell to the ground, out cold, and The Iconcolast turned towards Kenneth Cobb. Cobb told The Iconoclast to bring it, and the two started brawling on the ramp as referee Tom Hunter ran from ringside to try to break the two up.
Edward Findleton: It's the National Championship on the line but the action has already started!
Tom Hunter managed to usher Kenneth Cobb to the ring, while The Iconoclast was checking on Viking. Seeing Medical staff starting to treat Viking, The Iconoclast charged to the ring. With both men in, Tom Hunter called for the bell and the match started, just as both men started trading punches. The Insomniac eventually got The Iconoclast to the ropes then clotheslined him over the top. Cobb wasted no time, not letting up on his attack and jumped out onto The Iconcolast.
THE Casey Gains: Kenneth Cobb looks like a man possessed!
Cobb grabbed The Iconoclast by his head and whipped him into the ringside steps. He repeated the process, whipping The Iconoclast face first into the ring post, then threw him in the ring. The Iconoclast started to crawl across the rings toward the ropes, but Cobb jumped on his back, and locked in the Sleeper Hold. The Iconoclast started to fade fast, and Tom Hunter checked his arm, as it fell down three times. The bell rang, and Kenneth Cobb won via submission.
Edward Findleton: Wow! Cobb made quick work of the Iconoclast!
THE Casey Gains: Whoever challenges him next, take notes: Don't get his family involved.
Cobb started to cool down a bit, and looked at The Iconoclast and then outside the ring at Viking. He picked up his National Championship, and simply walked up the ramp, his match won.
Mary Jane Elder came out, ready for her Women's Championship match. Kitty Kayleen, with Mitchell Row, walked down to the ring next.
Edward Findleton: Mary Jane picked up the victory last week over Kitty, and won Ruslan Panov's respect, but can she win the Women's Championship this week?
As the bell rang, Mary Jane changed her strategy this week, and took a defensive approach to Kitty. As Kitty tried to amount offense, Mary Jane started to deliver counter blows. Elder seemed to have the upper hand, and tried to hit the Leg Drop DDT on Kitty, but Kitty was able to push Mary Jane away.
Kitty was able to start slowing down the pace, focusing on defense and attaching an occasional arm bar to Mary Jane to slow her offense down. The two women appeared on even ground again, when Mary Jane went for a quick strike on Kitty knocking her down. Kitty tried to get up, and Mary Jane went for the Leg Drop DDT a second time. Kitty still had her strength, and managed to over power Kitty and bring her to the mat. Mary Jane's shoulders hit the mat, and Kitty pushed down on her. Referee Brenda Moses got down, and Kitty Kayleen managed to pin Mary Jane Elder with a surprise pinfall victory!
Edward Findleton: And Kitty Kayleen wins! That pin came from out of nowhere!
THE Casey Gains: And Mary Jane Elder can't believe it! She had a strategy but it just didn't work.
Mary Jane Elder sat in the ring, staring at the group dejectedly. Kitty celebrated with her title, while Mitchell Row looked around at ringside. He took a steel chair, and slid into the ring.
Edward Findleton: Oh no, wait a minute!
Mitchell grabbed Kitty, gave her a kiss, and handed her the chair. Mary Jane was still sitting down, and buried her head in her hands. Kitty smiled, took the chair, and hit Mary Jane Elder in the back.
Edward Findleton: Come on! You won fair and square, the match is over!
THE Casey Gains: I think that was a message to the entire Women's Division. The power couple have a firm grip on the Women's Championship.
Mitchell Row picked up Kitty, and carried her out of the ring, leaving Mary Jane Elder holding her back on the ground in pain.
A loud explosion filled the arena, and The Behemoth and Rat came out for their match, followed by their opponents Fun Fight Machine and James Calhoun.
Calhoun and The Behemoth looked ready to square off to start the match, but before Referee Dennis Thompson could ring the bell, Calhoun quickly moved to the apron, and motioned for Fun Fight Machine to enter. Fun Fight Machine nodded, the bell rang, and the match was underway.
Fun Fight Machine started off running into the ropes, trying to deliver clotheslines to the Behemoth, who stood tall, barely moved by the attacks. Fun Fight Machine tried a few more times, before Behemoth caught Fun Fight Machine and ragdoll tossed him to the ground. The Behemoth hit Fun Fight Machine with a sidewalk slam, then tagged into Rat.
Rat continued the attack on Fun Fight Machine, not letting up. Rat then ran to the ropes, but as he went to spring off, James Calhoun pulled the top rope down, and Rat stumbled over the top rope and out of the ring. This gave Fun Fight Machine enough time to recover, and tagged in Calhoun.
Calhoun jumped out of the ring, throwing Rat into the barricade. Calhoun delivered chops to Rat's chest, then threw him in the ring. As Rat got to his feet, Calhoun grab him, and hit him with The Cobra Clutch Slam. James Calhoun put his hands on his hips, looked around the arena, and smiled.
THE Casey Gains: Calhoun can win it here but he needs to cover Rat!
Calhoun walked towards The Behemoth's corner, and started taunting him.
Calhoun: You never should have left! Enjoy your meaningless career! I am all powerful and untouchable!
At that point, The Behemoth walked over the rope, and quickly grabbed James Calhoun as his eyes went wide. Behemoth picked up Calhoun, and delivered the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker, then went back to the apron. Calhoun and Rat were both out of it, struggling to get to their corner. Rat tagged in The Behemoth, and as Calhoun was crawling towards Fun Fight Machine, The Behemoth grabbed his ankle and pulled him back to the center of the ring.
Calhoun started pleading with The Behemoth, and got on his knees. The Behemoth simply stood over Calhoun, showing no emotion on his face. He picked up Calhoun, but Calhoun quickly jabbed a finger in The Behemoth's eye. Calhoun rushed to his corner and tagged in Fun Fight Machine.
Fun climbed to the top rope and tried to deliver a crossbody to The Behemoth, but Behemoth caught im in mid air. The Behemoth lifted Fun Fight Machine up in the air and hit a gorilla press slam. Fun Fight Machine was clutching his ribs, and started to make his way to Calhoun, his arm out for a tag, and The Behemoth allowing it. Just as Fun Fight Machine was a foot away from the corner, Calhoun jumped from the apron to the ground, and started to retreat up the ramp, the crowd erupting in boos.
Edward Findleton: And he's abandoning Fun Fight Machine!
Fun Fight Machine looked anguished as Calhoun disappeared backstage, then slowly used the ropes to get to his feet. He turned towards The Behemoth, who simply stood in the ring staring him down. Fun Fight Machine took a breath and let out a scream as he ran towards The Behemoth, who hit a devastating clothesline flipping Fun Fight Machine head over heel. The Behemoth picked up Fun, and hit him with the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker. He covered Fun for the three count, and Dennis Thompson rang the bell to award them the victory.
THE Casey Gains: Unbelievable. I think that's the only word for what we saw tonight, unbelievable.
Edward Findleton: Indeed. Give credit for Fun Fight Machine for giving it all, and to Rat and The Behemoth for their team work. But the story tonight will be James Calhoun abandoning his partner!
Rat and The Behemoth stood in the ring victorious. Rat looked at the fallen Fun Fight Machine and shook his head in disappointment, and the two men exited to the back.
Edward Findleton: It's time for the main event!
A steel cage was lowered to the ring and put in place. Oden Schreiner's music came on, and he came out with the MuscleGang, still with his arm in a cast. Shortly after, Douglas Brunswick and Mayor Briggs made their way down. Before entering the ring, Briggs gave Brunswick a quick pep talk. Brunswick walked inside, and referee Tom Hunter locked the cage door.
The match started, and Douglas Brunswick immediately started going after the injured arm of Oden Schreiner. Schreiner tried to use his other arm to push Brunswick away, but Brunswick was barely able to overcome Oden's strength and was able to slam the hurt arm into the cage.
Douglas Brunswick kept up with the constant attacks, having a clear strategy of rendering Oden's arm useless. Brunswick then started to slow down the pace, and started applying rest holds. The change up strategy seemed to backfire, and Oden started to power out of the rest holds and get back to his feet. Oden stood up, with Brunswick still on his back trying to apply the hold, and Oden walked backwards into the cage, crushing Douglas Brunswick.
Brunswick let go and fell to the ground in pain. As he stood up, Oden used his healthy non-dominant arm to grab Brunswick's throat. Oden tried to lift him for a Chokeslam, but did not have the power, and Brunswick fought back with some kicks, causing Oden to let go. Brunswick ran to the corner and climb the ropes and went for an aerial attack, but Oden caught his throat again, delivering a mid air chokeslam!
Edward Findleton: This could be it! All Oden Schreiner has to do is cover Douglas Brunswick.
Both men were down, severely hurt. Oden tried to get to Douglas Brunswick, but Brunswick was starting to make his way to his feet as well. Brunswick managed to get up first and hit a bulldog on Oden, then looked to the top of the cage. Douglas Brunswick began to climb, trying to escape for victory.
THE Casey Gains: Brunswick is hurt but slowly making his way to the top!
Oden started to get up as well, and Brunswick was almost to the top of the cage. Oden Schreiner followed him and climbed to the top rope, then slid under Douglas Brunswick. He grabbed his thighs, and Oden suddenly had him in a top rope Powerbomb position. Brunswick's eyes went widen and he elbowed Oden in the head. Oden's grip lessened a bit, and Brunswick grabbed the injured arm and shoved it into the cage. Oden let go, and crouched on the rope, holding his arm and underneath Douglas with his back towards him. Douglas repositioned himself, and climbed down a bit and grabbed Oden's hit, putting him in position for the Lifting Reverse DDT.
Edward Findleton: Oh no...not from the top rope!
Douglas picked up Oden Schreiner, and jumped, hitting a Top Rope Lifting Reverse DDT. Both men took the impact hard, and Brunswick slowly crawled over to Oden. He put an arm over him, and Tom Hunter counted for three.
Edward Findleton: What a match! Brunswick defends his title successfully!
THE Casey Gains: And more importantly, without any help from Mayor Briggs
The cage lifted, and the MuscleGang helped Oden outside the ring, while Mayor Briggs brought the HAW World Championship to Douglas. Still hurt, Douglas held up the title, then collapsed into the ropes, celebrating his victory.
Edward Findleton: Both men gave it their all tonight, and Douglas Brunswick heads into our final month as HAW World Champion. We'll see you next week ladies and gentlemen!
