Dark Matches: Sydney Mason and Dalton Elkins defeated Boom Boom and Thundercrack(The Lumberjacks). Smiling Sally and Jessie Parran(The Strange Crew) defeated Moonlight and Harriet Snow
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW! We are in Houston, Texas tonight with some great matches! Franco Mancini vs Strawberry Bates Hill, The Navigators vs The Strange Crew, and our main event, Phoenix vs Scarred Badger!
The music of Pastor James began to play and the crowd booed. However, stepping out of the curtain was Viking, dressed in the attire of James with a black polo and white pants. Viking headed to the ring with a microphone.
Viking: Brothers and sisters, there is a false prophet about, a man who sells lies disguised as hope! A man by the name of…James! For too long he has run his forked tongue, and the Lord has spoken to me and commanded me to stop him…by beating the hell out of him in this ring! So James, come out, I challenge you to a match, tonight!
After a few brief moments, James made his way to the top of the ramp, looking upset.
Pastor James: You can mock me all you want, Viking. But you a heathen, and a disgrace! You want to wrestle me? I’d love to do that more than anything…but I’d be at an unfair advantage, not having my wrestling attire tonight.
Edward Findleton: He’s wearing the polo and pants he usually wrestles in!
Pastor James: Now if you’re so concerned about my words and my profession, then I propose to you this: A match Summit of Success, where we put our careers on the line. Your wrestling career and my preaching career!
Viking: So if I win…you can still wrestle but without all this phony evangelical preaching? …I think it’s worth the risk, I accept!
Pastor James: Viking, I’d say you’re a smart man…but this just proves you aren’t. Enjoy your last match.
James smiled and left, while Viking rolled his eyes.
Edward Findleton: Well we’ve got another match set of Summit of Success, but folks we’re getting word that something happened backstage. We’re going to show you footage that happened moments ago!
Isabella Dawson was walking alone backstage, when Jonah Webb stepped into her path. She tried to move around him, but from behind, Witchmere grabbed Dawson and threw her into the wall. Witchmere stomped a few times, until Jonah pulled her back.
Jonah Webb: One down…
Witchmere wiped sweat away from her forehead, and she walked away with Jonah Webb.
Edward Findleton: We got word that Isabella Dawson is alert and should be ok but is being checked out by medical still! The show goes on however, as we’ve got Franco Mancini vs Strawberry Bates Hill!
Strawberry Bates Hill entered, looking ready and determined.
THE Casey Gains: Strawberry had a decent run in VCW this summer. He failed to capture a title but picked up some solid wins. A win against Franco would really keep his momentum going!
Franco entered next, not looking happy, and ignored Hill’s handshake request. The match started, and Strawberry put up a decent fight. However, after one mistake by Hill, Franco took complete control and didn’t look back, with Franco Mancini winning in 4:18.
After the match, Franco took a microphone.
Franco Mancini: A few months ago, I talked about wanting a challenge. I want to wrestle people who are worth my time. I come back, and I get a guy who calls himself Strawberry? Am I some kind of joke?!
Franco was cut off as Freezerman’s music started to play and he walked out.
Edward Findleton: Uh oh! We don’t see the boss around too much!
Freezerman: Franco, your past few appearances in HAW, you’ve done nothing but blast the company on the quality of your opponents. It doesn’t make me happy, but I also wasn’t happy last week when one of your fellow wrestlers, Douglas Brunswick, did the same thing. So I’m making it official. At Summit of Success, it’s going to be Franco Mancini vs Douglas Brunswick, with the winner being the number one contender for the HAW World Championship. And after that, no more complaints!
Franco gave a nod, satisfied with the response.
Edward Findleton: Well that’s going to be a huge match with a lot at stake!
THE Casey Gains: Two of the best going currently, and a future title shot on the line? They better give it their all!
Meanwhile backstage, The Solo Girls, Crystal Cyclone and Rachel were walking and talking into the camera.
Crystal Cyclone: After we walked out last week, we were told we missed Summer Fun’s reasoning for choosing us as opponents.
Rachel: But we don’t believe it.
Crystal Cyclone: Not a second! They want to have fun? As if. You don’t make it this far in wrestling becoming friends with everyone. I think our initial hunch is the real reason. So Summer Fun, we have a message for you.
Rachel: Don’t underestimate us.
The Solo Girls stopped walking, right outside a locker room with Summer Fun’s name on it. They entered it, and the sounds of a fight were heard. After a few moments, Crystal and Rachel emerged, cracked their knuckles, and continued walking on as the camera faded to black.
The camera faded back in to show Club Corruption walking a city street at night. As they turned into an alleyway, two cops approached them.
Officer 1: Hey…you two look familiar. Barry, run a scan on them.
Night Prince: What for officer? We’re just friendly civilians roaming the dark alleyways.
Officer Barry: Officer Gavin…the scan came back. It’s the thieves, Night Prince and Ninja!
Officer Gavin: Hey! Stop right there! Return the Bra of Miss Lifeguard!
Night Prince: Oh, we’ll stop. But you can only get it back…if you beat us in a match.
Referee Dennis Thompson came running down the alleyway and rang a handheld bell. The “match” began, which mostly involved Night Prince and Ninja beating up on Officers Gavin and Barry. After slamming both cops through a table, Ninja and Night Prince each made a cover, and Dennis Thompson counted to three before running back from where he came.
Night Prince went over to Officer Barry’s bodycam, and started speaking into it.
Night Prince: Citizens of the world, this is just the first step in Club Corruption’s plan. We don’t have any need for this item. But we found a buyer who will pay very well. And with that money…we can purchase….the weapon. Good luck stopping us, hahaha!
The scene cut to the Samurais of Power watching the bodycam footage on a monitor next to Kyle Higgins.
Trickshot: This just got a whole lot more serious.
Ozzie Reagan: You can say that again.
Trickshot: This just got a whole lot more serious.
Kyle Higgins: Samurais of Power…I’m counting on you…We’re all counting on you!
Sensei Onaga: Don’t worry Daddy. We’ll stop them. Come on, let’s go!
Back at ringside, Casey and Edward still looked confused.
THE Casey Gains: So I did some research…Miss Lifeguard, aka, Mimic, fought Mr. Lifeguard to a humiliating loss on August 9th, 2012. So, yeah. That’s what caused all of this.
Edward Findleton: What are you talking about? That wasn’t Mimic, that was clearly the debuting Miss Lifeguard in her one and only match!
THE Casey Gains: He wrestled under alter egos the two weeks prior!
Edward Findleton: I have no recollection of Mimic even being there that season!
The music of Mayor Briggs started to play, and he made his way out.
THE Casey Gains: You know what, thank god he came out, we wasted way too much time on that already.
Mayor Briggs: Alright ladies and gents, it’s the moment everyone watching has been waiting for. This is the official contract signing for the HAW National Championship!
Edward Findleton: Contract signing? Was that in our notes for tonight?
Mayor Briggs: Now I got the contract right here in my jacket, signed by me, we’re just waiting on the King to come out to make it official, ‘aight?
After a few moments, King Donovan made his entrance with Bigg Pimpin’ Alex by his side.
King Donovan: I don’t see why we need a contract signing. I think my answer was clear last week. Yes, I’ll defend against you. But if you want that to be a bit more clear, I’ll be ready for any tricks you pull, and quite frankly, keep delivering pain to you until you just can’t get up anymore!
Mayor Briggs: Whoa whoa, chill mate! No reason to get all worked up! This is just a little piece of paper.
Bigg Pimpin’ Alex: Yeah, and we know your tricks. There’s probably something in invisible ink that awards you the title!
Mayor Briggs: I did not do that, but it’s a very good idea! I may steal that in the future! I just want a good, fair, fight!
Briggs began to reach into his jacket, but Donovan shook his head.
King Donovan: Boy, you better believe I ain’t signing any contract you give out.
Mayor Briggs: Aight, if you insist. I’ll leave you two be and just head back.
Briggs started to walk away, but stopped and pulled out a small metal pipe out of his kacet. He charged Alex, but Donovan caught him with a quick clothesline. Donovan got a few shots in on Briggs before Mayor Briggs managed to roll out of the ring and escape, looking very frustrated.
THE Casey Gains: Hey Briggs, next time, attack your opponent, not his manager, ok?
Edward Findleton: Agreed Casey, Donovan was ready and thwarted the plan of Briggs tonight! But can he do so at Summit of Success?
THE Casey Gains: Hold on, we’re going live backstage!
The feed switched over to Witchmere attacking Natasha York. York was in a doorway, and Witchmere slammed the door on her. Jonah Webb gave a nod, and Witchmere stopped before walking away.
Edward Findleton: Another terrible attack by Witchmere…we’ll have to give an update on Natasha York’s status later on!
The music of the Navigators hit, and they came down to the ring in their wrestling attire, ready for a match.
Edward Findleton: This next match was made at the request of the Navigators, after they found out the Strange Crew was, quote, “mocking them” behind their backs!
The Strange Crew’s theme played, and The Navigators looked prepared for a fight. However, coming out was Jessie Parran and Smiling Sally, and the Navigators rolled their eyes. Jessie and Sally got to their respective corners and the bell rang, but Pete Arrow went and motioned for a microphone.
Pete Arrow: We are the HAW Tag Team Champions. We wanted a match against the Strange Crew, not a match against the female rejects. So, we will not partake in this mockery of tag team wrestling. Get out so we can fight the real men!
Smiling Sally stared down the much larger Pete Arrow. Without a second thought, Sally started punching Arrow, then delivered a clothesline to knock him out of the ring.
North went to help Arrow, and the two had enough, and walked to the back. In the meantime, referee Brenda Moses counted to ten, and the match was awarded to Sally and Jessie via countout.
Edward Findleton: A bit of a protest there but…technically…Jessie and Sally beat The Navigators?
THE Casey Gains: Technically, yes. But I’m not sure The Navigators really care about that.
The scene switch to backstage, and Athena was watching tape of Sekino the Stunt Pilot, as Kherti Bhakta helped her take notes.
Athena: Stop the footage there. See? I can easily counter that. That could give me the momentum I need!
Kherti Bhakta: Athena…I know we’re doing lots of preparation. But I’m worried. Sekino is dangerous. We’ve both seen it.
Athena: I know. She’s probably the most dangerous wrestler I’ve ever set foot in the ring with. And that’s why I need to beat her. I’ve done it all in my career, but to defeat the Stunt Pilot? That’s something I need to accomplish.
Kherti Bhakta: I know you can achieve that…but if you don’t…is it worth it?
Athena: I’m a professional wrestler. My goal is to win every match, and I know that may not always happen. But if I’m not trying to be the best, then why am I here? Why am I on the road, going city to city, leaving my family behind? It’s to win, to prove not only to myself, but everyone, that you can achieve your dreams.
Kherti Bhakta: Ok. I’m cheering you on. I guess sometimes I just get worried around Sekino.
Athena: I really do appreciate your concern. You’ve become closest friend here. Thank you.
Kherti nodded, then started the tape back up and began taking more notes.
Outside the arena in the parking lot, Hannah Rivers was on her phone.
Hannah Rivers: Hello? Yeah, I’m trying to find out how Natasha and Isabella are. Yes, I’m their sister. Yes, for both, duh! Are you even listening to me?!
Witchmere came up from behind Hannah, grabbed her phone, and threw it off into the distance.
Hannah Rivers: Hey! I was on the phone!
Witchmere: Be careful what you say. Someone might overhear. And if you don’t like it…then maybe you can meet me in the ring next week.
Hannah Rivers: You know who attacks people behind their backs? Scaredy cats, like you. I’ll see you in the ring next week! And also, find a better nail technician, they look ugly.
Hannah Rivers walked off to get her phone as Witchmere smiled.
Back at ringside, RJ Bu’s music began to play, and he made his way out, looking a bit somber.
RJ Bu: Ok, look. I didn’t really want to do this tonight, not like this. But I have a message for Niko Green. I’m sorry. That’s it. I know you’ve ignored my texts, my calls, my emails, my facebook messages, my snapchat messages, my instagram messages. I even found your youtube account from eight years ago and messaged you on that. But bro, I really am sorry. I need to convey that, and I wanted to do that privately, not publicly. And like, if you hate me still, I’m cool with that, I deserve that. But bro, I really am sorry, I never meant to out you, I never meant to make you feel uncomfortable, and I need to learn to be a better bro for my bros.
At that point, Niko Green started walking down to the ring, no music playing. He snathed the mic from RJ Bu.
Niko Green: Stop it! Just stop! Last week’s humiliation wasn’t enough? You need to go and do this for the whole world to see? Maybe there’s a reason I’m not responding to any of that, and maybe it’s because I don’t want you in my life anymore. I don’t even want THIS to be my life anymore. My contract expires at the end of the year, and YOU are the reason I’m leaving. I’m not good at a lot, but I was good at this. I figured I could combine my passions. But YOU caused me to leave professional wrestling, and give up on my dream. So quit calling, quit harassing me, and just leave me the hell alone!
Niko threw the mic at RJ and stormed out of the ring. RJ looked sad, but slowly went to the back as well.
Edward Findleton: Well….after that, it’s time for a main event! Exciting, isn’t it?
THE Casey Gains: What a shift in tone.
Scarred Badger made his way out first, accompanied by Mitchell Row and Kitty Kayleen, while Phoenix entered second. Throughout the match, Badger tried to use his brawling style, while Phoenix stuck to his aerial offense and speed. Badger tried to sneak his sock of quarters into the match but Phoenix caught him, opened the sock up and managed to spill the quarters in the ring. Phoenix took this moment to attack and eventually managed to hit the Phoenix Splash and pin Scarred Bager in 9:50.
After the match, Phoenix grabbed a microphone and looked at Mitchell Row, who was outside the ring helping Badger.
Phoenix: Hey Row…I know you’re afraid. I can see it in your eyes. Thought maybe I’d get softened up tonight? Heh heh…nah. Not at all. Just made me more prepared. More ready. Two weeks buddy, two more weeks with that title around your waist! And then…I’ll make you pay for what you did to me last year.
Phoenix exited the ring, while Row stared him down, the cocky smile on his face replaced with a serious stare, watching Phoenix the entire time as the show came to a close.
