Dark Matches: Mimic defeated local talent Arakaki the Black Belt, Fun Fight Machine defeated local talent Chaotic Crow.
The HAW Theme played to start the show.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW Summit of Success! We are in Salt Lake City, Utah and we have an action packed show tonight with six matches! The Women and Men’s tag titles are on the line, as The Strange Crew defend against Exotic Delights, and Club Corruption challenge Jack Trailor and Salt Lake City’s own, Local Legend Danny Miller!
THE Casey Gains: Speaking of tag teams, we also have two partners going at it, Sentinel vs Phoenix! And in other singles action, Pastor James defends the National Championship against The Rookie, Kyle Higgins, and The Behemoth looks to win his first World Championship by defeating Glenny Pax!
Douglas Brunswick’s music hit, and he came out, flanked by Mayor Briggs, The United States, and El Espectro.
Edward Findleton: But we have a great singles match to start off, Douglas Brunswick vs Crash MuscleGate!
Crash MuscleGate’s music played next, and he made his way down to the ring alone.
THE Casey Gains: Crash is alone, and there’s a reason why. Oden, Liam, and Frederic have NOT been cleared by HAW doctors to return to the show, after the attack by Brunswick’s allies last week.
As Crash got in the ring, Briggs, Espectro, and The United States exited, each taking a different side of the ring. Crash eyed them all up, before staring down Brunswick. Referee Dennis Thompson explained the rules to the competitors, then rang the bell to start the match.
The match began with Brunswick trying to let Crash make the first move, then trying to counter it. However, Crash was able to hit a surprise blow to the midsection, and as Douglas bent over, Crash delivered an elbow to the spine. MuscleGate picked Douglas up and hit a backbreaker, then grabbed Douglas and locked him in an abominable stretch. Brunswick began to power out, so Crash pushed Brunswick towards the ropes. Douglas ran back to Crash, and Crash jumped in the air for the Dropkick, but Brunswick stopped his momentum at the last moment, avoiding any connection.
Edward Findleton: That could have been it right there!
As Crash tried to get up, Douglas stomped the ankle of Crash, then gave a knee drop to it. Crash hobbled to hit feed using the ropes for leverage, and Brunswick clotheslined Crash outside the ring, where he landed next to El Espectro. At that point, The United States and Mayor Briggs jumped on the apron, and Dennis Thompson went over to get them off. El Espectro started to pick Crash up, but Brunswick rolled out of the ring and stopped him.
Brunswick: I don’t need help!
El Espectro nodded and backed away, and Douglas Brunswick continued to attack Crash’s leg. He slammed the injured foot into the steps, then finally got Crash into the ring, going for a cover but Crash kicking out.
THE Casey Gains: Douglas Brunswick has a clear strategy! Focus on the leg, and that should negate the dropkick!
Brunswick picked Crash up, but Crash quickly countered, jumped up, and hit Brunswick with Dropkick.
Edward Findleton: You just jinxed him!
Crash was in a lot of pain, holding his foot. Seconds kept ticking by, and Douglas started to stir. Slowly, both men started to get up, Crash getting up first but hardly putting weight on his foot. Brunswick seemed dazed standing up, and turned towards Crash. Crash tried to jump for a Dropkick, but only got a few inches off the ground before falling, clutching the leg again. Brunswick quickly came to capitalize, and stomped the foot again. When Douglas went for another kick, Crash grabbed it with his hands, then tripped Douglas. Crash tried to elbow Brunswick’s back some more, but after a few shows Brunswick rolled out of the ring to recover.
Douglas now was visibly frustrated, and looked focused. After getting his breath back, he climbed to the ring and quickly grabbed Crash, getting him in position for the Lifting Reverse DDT. Douglas began to lift Crash up, but Crash countered, flipping over Brunswick and landing behind him. Crash jumped onto Brunswick’s back, knocking him down. In a quick motion, Crash grabbed the arms of Douglas Brunswick, locking in Physical Tear-apy, a camel clutch, right in the middle of the ring.
Edward Findleton: Brunswick is all alone! Will he tap?!
THE Casey Gains: He needs to use any strength he can to attack that foot!
Brunswick screamed in agony, then had one arm break free. He lifted the arm to try to attack Crash’s leg, but Crash grabbed it, and re-applied the hold. Brunswick screamed again, then started tapping.
Edward Findleton: I don’t believe it!
THE Casey Gains: Douglas Brunswick tapped out!
Crash released the hold and fell back, clutching his foot again.
Briggs, Espectro, and The United States all entered the ring, as Dennis Thompson got between them and Crash. Briggs sighed and got the others to turn their attention towards Brunswick to help him up, as Crash hobbled out of the ring, his hand up in the air.
As Brunswick started to recover, a look of dismay was on his face. The United States tried to lift up Douglas, but Brunswick pushed him away. Frustrated, he exited the ring, as Briggs and the others followed after him, keeping their distance.
Edward Findleton: Crash MuscleGate has gotten the better of Douglas Brunswick twice now. I wonder if this will put this feud to rest?
THE Casey Gains: I’m not sure, but we’ve got a Women’s Tag Team Championship match coming up, and speaking of long time feuding people, The Strange Crew and Biofuel Engineers are going to be at ringside for this!
Edward Findleton: That’s right! It turns out the anonymous tip against the Biofuel Engineers was found to have no merit, and both men were deemed innocent!
THE Casey Gains: Absolutely shocking.
The Exotic Delights, Lela LaCruse and Phueng Ahunai came out first, accompanied by Dalton Elkins and Sydney Mason, the Biofuel Engineers. The champs were out next, as Jessie Parran and Smiling Sally came out with Drizzles the Clown and Hawaii, the Strange Crew.
Referee Brenda Moses got the women into their corners, as Sally began the match with Lela. The bell rang to begin the match, but immediately Drizzles and Hawaii ran towards Dalton and Sydney, and started attacking them. The Strange Crew pushed the Biofuel Engineers into the ring, and all four men were brawling. An irate Brenda Moses started to get between them all to get order, then pointed to all four men and then to the back, indicating they were banned from ringside. At that, Drizzles and Hawaii high fived and gave a thumbs up towards Sally and Jessie, while Dalton and Sydney screamed in protest.
Edward Findleton: And the Biofuel Engineers have been nullified two weeks in a row!
THE Casey Gains: Everything Phueng and Lela had planned is now out the window, it’s a straight two on two!
With the ring cleared, Lela now turned her attention to Smiling Sally. Lela charged with a shoulder block, but Sally did not seem affected. Lela then started to punch Smiling Sally in the face, shot after shot after shot. After about 15 seconds of punches, Lela started to slow down, tiring out, while Sally still stood on her feet, the only thing messed up was her hair. Smiling Sally then brought her arm back, and delivered a massive uppercut to Lela LaCruse, knocking her right to the ground.
Phueng Ahunai rushed in to aid, but Sally grabbed Pheung and hit a Tornado Bomb on her. Lela scrambled to her feet, but Sally grabbed her and hit a second Tornado Bomb. Smiling Sally covered Lela, and Brenda Moses counted to three for a successful title defense.
Edward Findleton: Good God! Does anything bother her?!
THE Casey Gains: There’s a lot of scary wrestlers in the women’s division of HAW, but Edward, I think Smiling Sally might be the scariest.
Edward Findleton: There may only be one more chance to defeat her this year, and that’s at next month’s final show, End of the Trail.
THE Casey Gains: I’m not sure what’s planned, but I know a lot of titles will be defended at that show, and I’m willing to bet we’ll see the National Championship defended as well.
Edward Findleton: That’s our next match, but the question is, who will be holding the belt going into End of the Trail?
The Rookie Kyle Higgins came out first, holding the HAW National Championship and posing with it for pictures with the crowd.
THE Casey Gains: Could we have phrased that better? Just because you HOLD the title…doesn’t mean you’re the champion.
Pastor James came out next, much more serious, and never taking his eyes off the title.
Tom Hunter called for the bell to ring, and both men sprinted at each other, hitting a simultaneous clothesline. Higgins was up first, and threw James into the turnbuckle, before climbing on top and delivering ten punches. James was dazed, and Higgins was able to connect with a few atomic drops and body slams. Higgins went for a pin, but Pastor James kicked out at 2.
Higgins didn’t let up, picking Pastor James up. In one fast motion, the rookie hit James with a piledriver, and went for the pin. James kicked out at the very last second, but remained down on the mat.
Edward Findleton: James looks out of it!
Higgins got to the corner and looked to size James up, waiting for him get to his feet, but James stayed perfectly still on the ground, only breathing. After a few moments, Tom Hunter rushed over to check on Pastor James, and after a few moments, motioned to the stage. A doctor came running down to the ring, and began examining Pastor James.
THE Casey Gains: We don’t see piledrivers too often Edward but…that may have really done a number on Pastor James.
Edward Findleton: I don’t want to speculate but that could be anything from a neck injury to a concussion he’s suffering from.
With all this going on, The Rookie turned to the turnbuckle, bending over and hiding his face.
Edward Findleton: And I don’t think Kyle Higgins wanted it to end this way.
As more medical staff talked to James, he said something to Tom Hunter, who nodded. Tom Hunter then left the ring and walked over to ring announcer Bradley Wallace. With Tom Hunter out of the ring, James suddenly stood up, ran up behind Kyle Higgins, and hit him with a low blow. As The Rookie bent over in pain, James grabbed him then quickly delivered a Cobra Clutch Slam. The commotion alerted Tom Hunter, who ran back into the ring as James covered Higgins. Hunter looked reluctant to count at first, but finally began, and Pastor James successfully picked up the three count, victory, and title defense.
Edward Findleton: Does he have any self respect?! Come on!
THE Casey Gains: Ok, I admit it, he got me. Well done James.
Pastor James quickly grabbed the HAW National Championship and held it up as the crowd booed.
Edward FIndleton: Well from one champion here, let’s go backstage to Gregory Greystone with the HAW Women’s Champion!
Gregory Greystone: Hello ladies and gentlemen! I’m Gregory Greystone here with Sekino The Stunt Pilot. Sekin, we just had word you’ll be defending the Women’s Championship at End of the Trail. How do you feel about that?
Sekino: ….
Gregory Greystone: Are there any challengers you would like to face in particular?
Sekino: ….
Gregory Greystone: Any nerves? Any emotions? Anything?
Sekino: ……I will enjoy watching my opponent crash…and burn.
Gregory Greystone: There’s your quote folks! Thank’s Sekino, back to Edward and Casey!
Edward Findleton: Thanks Gregory! Well up next is a match many people are excited for…Master vs Apprentice, Sentinel vs Phoenix!
Phoenix made his entrance first, followed shortly by Sentinel. The bell rang and the match began, with Sentinel first approaching Phoenix, his hand out for a shake. Phoenix approached to reciprocate, but at the last moment, Sentinel pulled his hand away and slapped Phoenix across the face. As Phoenix grabbed his cheek, he nodded, then tried to punch Sentinel. Sentinel blocked the punch, and quickly took Phoenix down into an armbar.
Phoenix tried to use his strength to maneuver to the ropes, and finally grasped the bottom rope. Brenda Moses called for Sentinel to break the hold, who waited until the last moment of a disqualification threat before releasing.
Phoenix began to get to his feet, and Sentinel attempted an irish whip, though Phoenix reversed it. As Sentinel bounced off the ropes, Phoenix jumped for a crossbody and pin, though Sentinel kicked out at 1. Phoenix then began to use his speed and agility to his advantage, keeping Sentinel on his toes as he suffered from kicks, knees, and running strikes.
A flying forearm from Phoenix knocked Sentinel down, and Phoenix then climbed to the middle rope, going for a diving leg drop, but Sentinel rolled out of the way, causing Phoenix to crash on his tailbone. Sentinel quickly grabbed Phoenix in a chin lock, trying to slow the pace down. Phoenix elbowed Sentinel in the guy a few times, breaking the hold, but as he turned around, Sentinel poked Phoenix in the eye.
As Phoenix instinctively turned, holding his eye, Sentinel rolled him, and put his feet up on the ropes for leverage. Brenda Moses got down for the count, but Phoenix kicked out at the last moment. Sentinel started to held Phoenix up and grabbed him by the head, leading him to the corner. Sentinel tried to smash Phoenix headfirst into the turnbuckle, but Phoenix resisted. Phoenix instead grabbed Sentinel and slammed him headfirst into it, before hitting Sentinel in the head with a roundhouse kick, causing him to fall. WIth Sentinel prone, Phoenix jumped to the top rope, and quickly dove off hitting the Phoenix Splash. Phoenix covered Sentinel, and achieved the three count to pick up the victory.
Edward Findleton: What a match! The protege comes out on top!
THE Casey Gains: Sentinel did everything he could to show Phoenix the challenges he would face, but Phoenix proved to be ready!
As Phoenix got on the ropes to celebrate, Brenda Moses started to help Sentinel up, who was still clutching his ribs. Phoenix jumped down from the ropes and turned, seeing Sentinel standing in the ring. The two men had a brief stare down, until Sentinel extended his hand. Phoenix stared for a moment, then pushed Sentinel’s hand away. Sentinel looked upset, until Phoenix put his arms around him for a hug, which Sentinel returned. The two men said some words, and Sentinel seemed to motion for Phoenix to go ahead and celebrate. As Phoenix got on the turnbuckles again to pose for the crowd, Sentinel rolled out of the ring and clapped, before heading to the back.
THE Casey Gains: I think Sentinel gave Phoenix his blessing. Go ahead and achieve singles success, he’s taught him all he could.
Edward Findleton: He certainly seems ready for it! But while Phoenix goes for singles success, we’ve got more action tonight, as our next match is for the Men’s Tag Team Championships! And earlier today, the champion’s recorded a video. Let’s take a look!
The scene faded to Jack Trailor and Local Legend Danny Miller in a truck, camera mounted on the dashboard facing them while Jack drove.
Danny Miller: My back hurt. Not sure if it’s the drive or from last getting beat up last week. Your back hurt?
Jack Trailor: Nope.
Danny Miller nodded, shifting in his seat while trying to massage his own back with his hand.
Jack Trailor: So you grew up here?
Danny Miller: It’s why I’m a local legend!
Jack Trailor: Huh. I thought you said you grew up somewhere else.
Danny Miller: Oh no, right here in Salt Lake City, Utah! In fact, my old house is coming up.
Jack Trailor: Where?
Danny Miller: Right about…Oh we just missed the street, darn!
Jack Trailor: I can turn around.
Danny Miller: No need Jack! We’re making great time.
Jack Trailor: But I’m hungry.
Danny Miller: Don’t worry, I know a hot dog place just a little bit down the road! Good hotdogs, best tasting ketchup!
The footage was then put into fast motion, Jack clearly making multiple turns, and probably driving in real time for around 10 minutes, until it went back to normal speed.
Danny Miller: There it is! Hotdog House, my old stomping grounds! Let’s go!
Back at the arena, Edward Findleton and Casey Gains stared into the camera.
Edward Findleton: ….Did that promote the match? In anyway?
THE Casey Gains: I really need to renegotiate my contract this off season.
On cue, Jack Trailor’s music hit, and he came out with Local Legend Danny Miller. Club Corruption, Night Prince and Ninja followed, and referee Tom Hunter began the match.
Jack and Ninja started the match, and while Jack tried to use his strength, Ninja used his speed to escape from every slam Jack tried to attempt. Ninja then shocked Jack Trailor connecting with a springboard DDT, and quickly went to tag in Night Prince.
Night Prince started his offense by going to the top rope and hitting a diving elbow drop. He went for a pinfall attempt but Jack kicked out. Night Prince isolated Jack far from Danny Miller, continuing his offensive onslaught. Night Prince climbed to the top rope, but Jack pushed down on the rope, causing Night Prince to fall groin first into the ringpost.
With Night Prince hurt, Jack stumbled over to Danny Miller and made the tag. Miller went straight into attacking Night Prince, before lifting him up and hitting a brainbuster. Miller went for the pin, but Ninja ran in to break up the count. As Tom Hunter tried to get Ninja out of the ring, Jack entered and went after Ninja. The two men brawled, while Tom Hunter tried to gain control.
Danny Miller saw this, then quickly rolled out of the ring, looked under it, and grabbed a wrench he found underneath it. He looked ready to hit Night Prince, but Night Prince was still out of it on the ground, and Hunter was starting to take control of Jack and Ninja. Miller then put the wrench on the ground, then reached into his tights and pulled out ketchup packets. He opened them up, sprayed them on his forehead, and collapsed on the ground next to the wrench.
THE Casey Gains: He’s had that in his singlet all day?!
Jack and Ninja were finally back in their corner, as Tom Hunter turned around to find both men down in the ring, and a “bloodied” Danny Miller. Tom Hunter looked confused, and started a ten count. Danny Miller then sat straight up on the one count and pointed at the wrench.
Danny Miller: He hit me in the head!
Tom Hunter looked completely lost, but ran out of the ring to the time keepers area, and the bell rang.
Bradley Wallace: The winners of this match by disqualification…..and STILL Tag Team Champions, Jack Trailor and Local Legend Danny Miller!
Edward Findleton: And they do it! This unlikely team retains the titles!
THE Casey Gains: If Danny Miller starts to pull a hot dog out of there next, we need to cut the feed.
Edward Findleton: Actually, we’re getting word! We have something going on backstage! Let’s go to the action!
The feed cut to backstage, where a dishevelled Rat was frantically making his way around the halls.
Rat: Where’s Behemoth!? I need to warn him!
Rat grabbed a backstage crew member.
Rat: Did you see him!? He can’t wrestle in this match!
Crew member: Uhh, I think he’s that way! He’s next!
Rat: No…No!
With that, Rat rushed off.
Edward Findleton: Well, Glenny Pax is true to his word, he let Rat get free! The Behemoth will probably be so glad to hear this!
The pyro of the Behemoth went off at that moment, and he made his way out to the ring.
THE Casey Gains: I think at the end of the day, the Behemoth is the favorite in this match…but what did Rat mean?
As The Behemoth got to the ring, the lights dimmed, and Glenny Pax made his way out for his entrance, flanked by around ten visitors. Referee Dennis Thompson took the HAW World Championship and held it up. The bell rang to signal the start of the match, but Rat ran out onto the stage. Glenny motioned to his Visitors, and all ten grabbed Rat before he could get to the ring. Rat tried to break free, but the Visitors simply held him back, forcing him to his knees and watching the match.
Glenny let out a laugh, waving to Rat. As he turned around, he was greeted with a huge clothesline from The Behemoth, knocking Glenny right off his feet.
Edward Findleton: He’s not waiting anymore! It’s revenge time!
The Behemoth picked Glenny up, and immediately got him in position for the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker. Behemoth nodded to Rat, then hit Glenny Pax with the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker.
THE Casey Gains: Cover him!
The Behemoth looked to still be in a rage, and instead propped Glenny into a corner, delivering punch after punch to the midsection of Glenny. The Behemoth continued to have his way with Glenny, tossing him around the ring a few more times, before letting out a roar. A nearly ragdoll Glenny was put back into position for the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker, and The Behemoth lifted him into the air. With one last burst of energy, Glenny elbowed The Behemoth’s head. The Behemoth’s grip loosened a little and he stumbled backwards, allowing Glenny’s feet to land on the top rope. Glenny was able to maneuver out of the Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker, tucked The Behemoth’s head in his arms, and using the ropes, delivered the Standing Tornado DDT.
THE Casey Gains: That’s why I said cover him!
Edward Findleton: Both men are hurt now!
Glenny Pax made his way over to a corner to recover and get his breath back, while The Behemoth began to regain strength as well. He followed Glenny to the cover, and delivered a massive chop across the chest of Glenny. With Glenny Pax stunned, The Behemoth picked him up and put Glenny in a sitting position on the top turnbuckle.
Edward Findleton: Oh no…what does he have planned?!
The Behemoth started to climb the ropes as well, then grabbed Glenny’s, and lifting him up, preparing for a powerbomb from the top rope outside of the ring.
Edward Findleton: They’re feet away from us! This looks bad Casey!
The Behemoth started to throw Glenny down, but Glenny Pax reversed, using his legs to hurricanrana The Behemoth outside of the ring and through the announce table. Glenny managed to hold onto the ropes, and quickly made sure he was in the ring.
Edward and Casey’s audio seemed to be cut from the destruction, and the ten count begun by Dennis Thompson could be heard clearly. Rat tried again to break free of the Visitors, but they held strong. Finally, Thompson counted to ten, with Glenny winning via count out.
Bradley Wallace: The winner of this match and still HAW World Champion…Glenny Pax!
Glenny grabbed the title, then motioned up the ramp at his Visitors. Six of them ran down to the ring and picked The Behemoth up, and began carrying him up the ramp, while Glenny followed. As they passed Rat, he tried to protest and stop them, but Glenny took the championship and hit Rat in the face with it. Rat collapsed, and the Visitors all held up The Behemoth as they took him to the back. Glenny turned to the crowd, and began a maniacal laugh. He held the World Championship up one last time, before heading to the back as well.
