Dark Matches: Asher Sutton defeated Georgios Stanellis, Athena defeated “Moonlight” Lacey Black.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW! We’re in St. Paul, Minnesota tonight and one week away from Downtown Disaster! Our main event is the HAW National Championship match, King Donovan vs Glenny Pax!
THE Casey Gains: But we’ll also see tonight, Mayor Briggs take on Phoenix, and a six woman tag match, the champions vs challengers, as Sekino The Stunt Pilot and the Exotic Delights take on Summer Fun and…well, we don’t know. We just know that this mystery partner will face Sekino next week!
Edward Findleton: But we have an exciting bout first, as Franco Mancini will take on El Termitas II!
El Termitas II came out first, excited and energetic, while the serious Franco Mancini followed him.
Throughout the match, Franco was methodical with his attacks, giving El Termitas no chance to get any offense in, and eventually Whacking him with the Throat Thrust to pin him in 6:39. After the match, Franco took a mic.
Franco Mancini: That’s what I’m given. That’s who the Godfather of Professional Wrestling was supposed to wrestle tonight? El Termitas II?! You know what? I’m done. I’ll come back in the fall, maybe HAW won’t take what they have for granted then. I’m out of here, not wasting anymore of my time
Franco threw the mic down and went to the back.
Edward Findleton: Well the self proclaimed Godfather of Professional Wrestling doesn’t look like he’ll be showing up at Downtown Disaster.
THE Casey Gains: I am worried for whoever his opponent will be the next time we see him. Franco Mancini has a chip on his shoulder.
Backstage, Sean O’Toole approached Fergus O’Toole.
Sean: Hey. I need you to be honest with me. Am I the weak link?
Fergus: Not wasting anytime speaking your mind Sean? Hah. Listen, you’re my brother. My twin. I’ve always told you the truth, and I’m going to continue. No. You are not the weak link. Did you make a mistake with that Superkick the other week? Of course. But I’ve made mistakes too. We both have. You and I…we are equals. And that’s what’s going to lead us to victory. Aiden and Pete? Two different styles. We can exploit that with our ability to just know what the other is doing. We’ve been a tag team our whole life, and that’s going to get us those titles.
Sean: …Thanks brother. I appreciate it. Let’s go destroy these guys next week and win the titles, again!
Back at ringside, Phoenix’s music hit as he made his entrance, followed by Mayor Briggs. Before the match started, Douglas Brunswick had made his way through the audience, and took a seat right at ringside with the fans eating popcorn. Mayor Briggs started to complain to Tom Hunter, but Hunter let him know he couldn’t do anything right now with Brunswick just sitting there.
Edward Findleton: Well it looks like Brunswick is…taking the match in with the fans?
THE Casey Gains: And Briggs wisely letting Tom Hunter know that he needs to keep his eyes on any Brunswick interference!
The match began, and it was a rather even affair. However, whenever Briggs pulled off a big move of gained momentum, he would look in the direction of Douglas Brunswick, who would simply shrug and continue to eat popcorn. After a big ddt by Briggs, he ran out of the ring and confronted Brunswick.
Mayor Briggs: I know you’re planning something! But you can’t outsmart me!
Douglas Brunswick: I’m just sitting here eating popcorn!
Briggs then tossed the popcorn in the face of Brunswick, before getting back to the ring. The distraction allowed Phoenix to recover, and start going to town on Briggs. Eventually Phoenix hit the Phoenix Splash, and pinned Mayor Briggs.
Brunswick hopped the barricade and went over and grabbed a microphone.
Douglas Brunswick: Hey Briggs…let’s settle this once and for all, next week, at Downtown Disaster. I’ll see you then if you have the courage!
Edward Findleton: Well the paranoia of Mayor Briggs may have got the better of him, as he overthought his way to a loss!
THE Casey Gains: Both of these guys are going to want to pick up that win next, and end this spring season on a high note!
Backstage, Pastor James was sitting down, looking into the camera.
Pastor James: Good evening. It’s a pleasure to be with all of you on this fine day. Now I don’t want to take up too much of your time. You should be spending it with your loved ones, enjoying life. But I do have a request, just a small one. I’m asking you…yes, you….to pray for me. I’m not too proud to admit that sometimes, I need help. And I need your help for my match next week against the heathen, Peter Horn. So tonight, please before going to bed, say a quick prayer that I’ll come out on top. Or, if you want to do more, you can donate to the cause by sending me whatever monetary amount you can spare. Both are appreciated, and I thank you.
Pastor James stood up and began to walk off screen, until a large crash was heard. James was flung back into view of the camera, and Horn was standing over him. Peter “Carnage” Horn hit the Side Sitout Powerslam on James. Horn said nothing, and simply walked away.
Edward Findleton: Folks, please don’t actually donate your money to James. That’s all. Anyway, onto our next match!
Sekino’s music hit first as she made her down, still bandaged up from her attack last week, followed by The Exotic Delights with the Biofuel Engineers. The challengers, Summer Fun walked down next, and they turned up the ramp waiting for their partner. After a brief pause, the lights in arena went out, until a spotlight was shining on the side of the ramp, where Jonah Webb stood.
Jonah Webb: Sekino…I’m glad you made it here tonight. Are you ready to see your future?
The lighting turned red and new music played. Moments later, Witchmere walked onto stage.
Edward Findleton: The Stunt Pilot might have just found one of her toughest challengers yet!
THE Casey Gains: Witchmere vs Sekino?! That’s going to be bloodbath!
Witchmere and Jonah exchanged nods of acknowledgement, and she made her way down to the ring, eyes locked on The Stunt Pilot the entire time. As she slid in the ring, Sekino and Witchmere started brawling.
Referee Brenda Moses was finally able to get things back under control after a bit, allowing the match to officially begin. Witchmere showed why she was a threat to Sekino, and picked up the victory in 9:02 with the Head Vise applied to Lela LaCruse.
As the bell rang, she pointed back to Sekino, who took her title and went to the back, looking frustrated.
Edward Findleton: Well next week it’s Summer Fun vs Exotic Delights, and Witchmere vs Sekino the Stunt Pilot! Two great title matches we can look forward to! And speaking of title matches, we just got some news regarding the World title match! It’s happening live backstage!
The camera faded in to a shot of Freezerman in his office. As it zoomed out, Oden Schreiner and Mitchell Row were sitting on opposite sides of him, staring each other down.
Freezerman: Good evening HAW fans. I love to put as much action in the ring as possible, but we have a big main event next week, and I don’t want either of these competitors fighting. Gentleman, if there is any attacks going on, both of you will indefinitely suspended, is that clear.
Oden and Mitchell both nodded in agreement.
Freezerman: The stakes of this match are huge, this is a title vs career match. This match will be refereed by senior official Dennis Thompson, with Brenda Moses on standby at ringside, and Tom Hunter backstage monitoring the camera angles. I say all of this because in the past, I have seen interference from Kitty Kayleen, Scarred Badger, Crash MuscleGate, Frederic St. Pierre, and Lovable Liam.
Mitchell Row: I’d hardly call having a supportive wife cheering me on “interference.”
Oden Scrheiner: She hit Frederic with a brick!
Mitchell Row: She used her purse in self defense, and we have no knowledge of who planted the brick in that purse!
Freezerman: Gentleman, it doesn’t matter. That’s the past. I’m focusing on next week. Both of you are heated over this, and that’s why we want a fair match, correct?
Oden Schreiner: Yes!
Mitchell Row: ….Sure.
Freezerman: So next week, if ANY HAW contracted employee interferes in the match, they will be fired. And if any non contracted employee interferes, they will be reported to law enforcement. Is this all clear? Good. So we will sign this contract, and shake hands. Oden?
Oden grabbed the pen and quickly signed it, not breaking eye contact with Mitchell Row.
Freezerman: Excellent! Mitchell?
Mitchell took the contract and pen and started to try to sign but stopped.
Mitchell Row: It looks like this ran out of ink. How about I take it back to my locker room with this and sign it there?
Freezerman went into his desk and pulled out a new pen. Mitchell Row begrudgingly accepted it and signed. Freezerman then looked at the two men, and they slowly extended their hands out, giving a tense shake.
Freezerman: Excellent! May the best man win next week at Downtown Disaster!
Edward Findleton: Well next week’s main event is official, and there will be NO interference!
THE Casey Gains: This may be one of the most intense fights for the HAW World Championship ever, both of these competitors are multitime World champions. A lot is on the line.
Edward Findleton: And a lot is on the line tonight too, as we head to tonight’s main event!
The lights in the arena went out, as Glenny Pax made his entrance accompanied by Cyberhemoth and a few visitors. King Donovan came out next with the National Championship and Bigg Pimpin’ Alex.
The match was methodical, with Donovan taking charge early but Glenny hitting a key reversal to slow it down and inflict pain. Glenny had then hit a Standing Tornado DDT on King Donovan and went for the cover, but Donovan got his foot on the rope at the last second. Glenny had begun to celebrate but as the result was clarified, grew angry. Glenny argued with ref Tom Hunter, allowing Donovan to recover and hit the Full Nelson Slam. Donovan covered Glenny and defeated him in 12:39.
Edward Findleton: And King Donovan retains!
As Cyberhemoth and the Visitors rushed the ring, Donovan wisely scrambled out with Alex, hands in the air in celebration.
THE Casey Gains: Glenny was so close, and just missed that tiny bit of ring awareness to get Donovan in the middle of the ring, and that’s the difference tonight. The King stays king!
Edward Findleton: Thank you for joining us tonight, and we’ll see you next week at Downtown Disaster!
