Dark Matches: Franco Mancini defeated Connor Andrews, Phoenix defeated Avery Rage
The HAW Theme kicked off to start the show.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW! We’re in Buffalo, NY tonight and the Women’s Tag Team Championship is on the line in our main event! But the women will start the show too, as we have a single match next!
Dixie Boyle made her entrance, and Pastor James and Ivy Clarke followed behind her. Her competitor, Bethany Watts came out next, who as she passed Clarke, exchanged some words with her.
THE Casey Gains: “No Nonsense” Bethany Watts is a former VCW Women’s champion, and I say former because Ivy Clarke defeated her last year for the title…before she lost it to Brooke Bolt!
Edward Findleton: There are some new faces in HAW, but all of these women have history together!
The match began, and Bethany Watts displayed a strong, power style offense. Ivy and James seemed to be casually talking ringside, not paying attention to the match, until Bethany Watts hit a Backbreaker on Dixie, and pinned her in 7:36. As Bethany celebrated, Ivy ran in the ring from behind and attacked her. Dixie recovered, and a two on one beatdown started to occur.
Edward Findleton: Talk about sore losers!
Ivy picked up Bethany Watts and held her arms, and Dixie started to line up for an attack. At that moment, running down the ramp came Witchmere. She slid into the ring and clotheslined Dixie Boyle, then hit an elbow on Ivy Clarke. Bethany started to recover, and the two cleared the ring.
Edward Findleton: Witchmere coming to the aid of Bethany Watts! Not the pair I would have predicted!
James, Ivy, and Dixie retreated up the ramp, with James yelling insults as they retreated. Witchmere had seen enough and nodded to Watts, and the two exited the ring and started coming after the trio. With new urgency, James, Ivy and Dixie fled to the back.
Edward Findleton: Pastor James won’t forget this but atleast for tonight, Bethany Watts came out on top in every way! A great debut match for the rookie!
Mayor Briggs' music began to play, and he came out to the ring with his HAW National Championship, as well as The United States and El Espectro and Bigg Pimpin’ Alex.
Mayor Briggs: Evenin’ mates. Last week, we all saw ourselves a great outing. El Espectro won a fourway, and he gets the honor to face your National champion, me, Mayor Briggs! Now, contractually speakin’ this match has to take place in two weeks at One Way Trip. But, I’m a nice guy. Tonight, everyone here is gonna see a dress rehearsal! An HAW first! I’ll be Mayor Briggs, the greatest National champ of all time, El Espectro will be the foolish challenger, and the United States will be the referee! So here’s the plot. Match begins, El Espectro lays down, I cover him. Everyone got their parts?
The United States smiled and nodded, while Espectro just stared back.
Mayor Briggs: Aight’, great! Ding ding ding, the match is on! Positions!
The two looked at El Espectro expectantly, who didn’t move.
Mayor Briggs: Mate, get on the ground. I gotta cover you, got it? What don’t you get?
El Espectro stared at Briggs, then shook his head “no.”
Mayor Briggs: Ok lad, we can talk over the details later, but in two weeks, this is the finish, ok?
El Espectro grabbed the microphone from Mayor Briggs' hands.
El Espectro: In two weeks at One Way Trip…I’m going to defeat you for the HAW National Championship!
Espectro pushed Briggs out of the way and went to the back, leaving Briggs, Alex and The United States shocked.
Edward Findleton: It looks like that wasn’t part of the plan!
THE Casey Gains: Unless it is. Maybe he’s bluffing us and it IS part of the plan. Unless he knows we’re thinking that and it’s not, but he knows we’re thinking that, and it is!
Edward Findleton: …I’m confused. Let’s go backstage!
Kitty Kayleen was at a mirror doing makeup, when RJ Bu approached her.
RJ Bu: Yo…Kitty Kayleen! Make up looks good. Seeing someone special tonight? You know, if you’re interested…
Georgios Stanellis approached, and stood in front of her.
Georgios Stanellis: She isn’t interested “bro.” She’s only got one guy she cares about, and it ain’t you.
Stanellis got into Bu’s face, when Niko Green approached and stood next to Bu.
Niko Green: You know, personally, I don’t give a damn who she’s interested in. But what I do know, is you’re a little punk who weaseled his way onto the roster. I wasn’t impressed last week. You won a four on two, good job. Maybe when you face us, you can be a real man. But I don’t see that happening until you tell your partner the truth.
On cue, Mitchell Row showed up, now standing besides Georgios.
Mitchell Row: Hey! It looked like you were saying hurtful things to Georgios! Don’t you ever talk to him that way! What were they saying Georgios? Are you ok?
Georgios Stanellis: Yeah…I’m ok. I was just talking about how great it’s going to be when we take the tag titles from you!
RJ Bu: We’d like to see you try.
Georgios Stanellis: We will!
RJ Bu: Then do it!
Mitchell Row: Enough! Come Georgios, we don’t need you interacting with these…these…these bullies! Let’s go. You can come too Kitty.
Row, Stanellis, and Kayleen all walked away, giving angry glances back at the tag champs.
THE Casey Gains: Friendship like that is tough to come by, Edward.
Edward Findleton: Agreed. It’s been great to see Bu and Green grow together.
THE Casey Gains: You mean Mitchell and Georgios.
Edward Findleton: ……………..It’s time for our next match!
Rough Hog Reid Harrison made his way out to take on Fun Fight Machine. Fun Fight Machine dominated, and picked up the victory with a 450 Splash in 2:21. After the match, Fun grabbed a microphone.
Fun Fight Machine: This is my first match back in HAW. Thank you. It feels great to be back in the ring in front of all of you! Last year was a difficult year for me and my family. I had to go back home. My mother…she became ill. And last winter, I lost her. It is still difficult, I miss her so much. But I know she was proud of me, she encouraged me to return to HAW. No matter what happens, I dedicate this season to the memory of Ishikura Hatsuyo, my mother. Thank you!
The crowd applauded Fun Fight Machine, and he made his way to the back.
Edward Findleton: We’re happy Fun is back, and we wish him a great year! Switching gears, we’re gonna go backstage! Correction! To Outer Space!
Inside a futuristic spaceship, Glenny Pax paced back and forth.
Glenny Pax: Douglas Brunswick…last week, you defeated my thrall, The Insomniac. And then…you ran like a coward. You were afraid. Afraid of my power! It was wise to run, but you can only run on fear for so long, until you run on empty. Which is why I am sending the most powerful force in the universe after you. The being that never stops. Cyberhemoth. He hurt you once. This time, he will destroy you for good.
Glenny stared in the camera until it faded to black, and went back to ringside.
THE Casey Gains: I will say this, Cyberhemoth is one tough customer. Brunswick really needs to keep an eye out for him.
Edward Findleton: While Brunswick does that, we’ve got a very special segment next!
The camera panned to the stage, and the woman’s roster, with the exception of Sekino the Stunt Pilot, Summer Fun, and The Stable, were sitting at the top of the stage. Athena’s music played, and she walked out to a standing ovation, accompanied by her husband and toddler. She walked to the ring and in front of a podium.
Athena: Thank you. Thank you so much. I’ve had a lot to think over the past year. My last match…it wasn’t what I envisioned. I always wanted to pass the torch, but to go out like I did…It wasn’t the physical pain that was the worst, it was the emotional pain. I felt like a failure, that I let everyone down. But that injury gave me a new perspective, the importance of family. Being at home and dedicating time to them, I became at peace. I’m ready and I’m excited for this next chapter of my life, to be a great wife and mother!
The crowd cheered for Athena and she raised her hands up to quiet them down after a bit.
Athena: The last thing I want to say, as I referenced, I never got to pass the torch. But I’m going to do it now. Can Kherti Bhakta and Penny Downs join me in the ring?
Kherti and Penny stood from their seats and walked up the ramp, as Athena addressed them.
Athena: Kherti, you made me so proud when you defeated Sekino for that title. This was well earned, and HAW is in great hands with you leading the Women’s division. You are my friend, and you are a champion!
Kherti smiled and thanked Athena, giving her a hug.
Athena: And Penny, I see so much potential in you. You remind me of a younger me, and you’re a true up and coming star. Stay strong, you’ve got a bright future.
Penny nodded, then went over to the microphone.
Penny Downs: Athena, thank you. It means a lot coming from an HAW legend…BUT. I don’t care about potential. I don’t want to be a star of the future. I want to prove that I’m the real deal, right now, and I want to prove that I can defeat the White Tiger and take the title from her!
Kherti also approached the microphone, looking apprehensive.
Kherti Bhakta: Penny, I don’t know if this is the proper forum to express a challenge, but you know what? I accept. You’re on.
Athena: You know, I think this is fitting. Two strong women, two great wrestlers. All I know is, I’m excited for this match, and I’m excited for the future of HAW Women’s division!
The crowd gave one last cheer, and Athena took Penny and Kherti on each arm and exited the ring with them, while Penny and Kherti’s body language was still a bit tense.
Edward Findleton: What a great send off for Athena! And she’ll be proud, as we’re getting to our main event, the Tag Team title match between The Stable and Summer Fun!
The Stable’s music hit, and out came Zoey Chambers, Jenna Ingram, and Hazel Glover. The three stood in the ring ready, and looked up the ramp as Summer Fun’s music played. However after a few moments, no one came out, and the music stopped. The Stable all looked confused.
Edward Findleton: Uhh…well, we’re supposed to have a tag title match.
THE Casey Gains: Wait! Who’s that coming down the ramp?
Edward Findleton: Wait..is that Paisley Alden?!
Walking down the ramp and taking in the surroundings was Paisley Alden. She took a microphone as she entered the ring.
Jenna Ingram: What are YOU doing here? You’re not who we’re supposed to face!
Paisley Alden: Hey, relax, relax. It’s a misunderstanding, that’s all. So, it’s a funny story actually. Daisy and Maple called me, and said “Hey, we think it was you who challenged us while we were in the car, so we accept.” And I didn’t remember doing that, but I also figured it made sense, you know? So I said “Yeah, I challenged you, let’s go.” and they said “Your place or our place?” and I said your place but I just talked to them and they went to my place actually, and I came here.
Hazel Glover: Oh that does make sense, I can see how the confusion happened.
Paisley Alden: So I’m really sorry. I don’t have tag titles to defend.
Zoey Chamber: That’s ok! So uhh….we have some time left on the show still. Want to have a one on one match?
Paisley Alden: Now? I mean…sure, ok.
Edward Findleton: Uhh….well, looks like our new main event is set…it’s…Paisley Alden and it looks like Zoey Chambers!
THE Casey Gains: We’re getting a lawsuit, I know it.
The match started, and it was an evenly paced match. However, Paisley Alden got the better of Zoey Chambers and defeated her in 8:11, surprising the Stable.
Edward Findleton: And…Paisley Alden wins?! Is this even a sanctioned match?
THE Casey Gains: I guess it was. Brenda Moses rang the bell and counted three. So…I’m not sure what it means, but hey, it’s done.
Edward Findleton: I don’t think The Stable is happy but regardless, that’s the outcome for tonight! We’ll see if there’s any more to this when we see everyone next week. Goodnight!
