The HAW Theme with a mixture of pyro started the show.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW Downtown Disaster! We’re in Chicago tonight. I’m Edward FIndleton with THE Casey Gains and Eve Solace! This is a jam packed show that will culminate in our main event, where Douglas Brunswick defends the HAW World Championship against Dr. Insidious!
Eve Solace: On the women’s side, Penny “The Hammer” Downs will defend her World Championship against Moonlight, Bethany Watts continues her National Championship Open Challenge, and The Solo Girls, Crystal Cyclone and Rachel take on the team of Kherti Bhakta and “The Marauder” Sophie Lester!
THE Casey Gains: And our last few matches, Pastor James and Cole Arcane look to settle their feud, Harvey Allison defends the National Championship against Tyler Ford, and our opening bout, the tag team title match!
The challengers, Phoenix and Fun Fight Machine, The Firing Squad made their way out, trying to pump up the crowd.
Edward Findleton: The Firing Squad makes their way down to the ring, they’ve brought some of their love of wrestling back this past year with their…less than ethical victory methods, but tonight might be bigger than a passion for the ring.
THE Casey Gains: I think it’s much bigger, there’s a long history between the four guys in the ring, but now you add in the fact of some news that was just announced today, and that’s Rat has officially retired due to last week’s beatdown, that has to really mess with Fun Fight Machine’s mind who had worked with him in the past.
Eve Solace: The fact remains though, this match could be personal, but it’s the HAW Tag Team Titles on the line. They’re not forgetting that either.
The lights dimmed, and Glenny Pax and Cyberhemoth made their way to the ring, with two Visitor underlings carrying the Tag titles, handing them over at the ring steps and waiting outside the ring.
As the match began, Fun and Phoenix immediately jumped into the ring together and hit two quick baseball slides to the Visitor underlings, knocking them backwards and seemingly unconscious. The numbers currently looked even, and the proper wrestling began. The two lighter weights, Phoenix and Glenny, started to battle with Phoenix looking solid. He hit some impressive springboard attacks, forcing Glenny to tag in Cyberhemoth.
Fun immediately rushed into help Phoenix, and the two tried to double team Cyberhemoth. The attacks stunned Cyberhemoth a bit, but referee Tom Hunter forced Fun Fight Machine out, but not for long as Fun tagged himself in. Cyberhemoth went for some all out strikes, but Fun Fight Machine seemed to anticipate all attacks and was very successful in dodging them all, until one connected square in the face.
At that point, Cyberhemoth started to manhandle Fun Fight Machine. While getting driven to the mat multiple times, Fun Fight Machine had the ring awareness to roll to his corner, allowing a fresh Phoenix tag. Phoenix stole Fun’s strategy of dodging attacks, and stood near the ring post. Cyberhemoth charged Phoenix, who stepped out of the way at the last moment. Cyberhemoth stumbled in shock after his collision with the turnbuckle. Phoenix swept out his leg, then climbed to the top rope and hit the Phoenix Splash.
Edward Findleton: This could be it! New champions!
As Phoenix went for the cover, the two Visitors had recovered and jumped into the ring. Tom Hunter stopped them, trying to corral them to the corner of Glenny and get them to leave. Cyberhemoth was now getting up slowly, and Phoenix motioned to Fun Fight Machine. Fun looked reluctant, but Phoenix looked directly at him and told him to hurry. Fun Fight Machine reached into his tights, and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles. He hesitated, then tossed them to Phoenix who quickly equipped them. Phoenix blasted Cyberhemoth in the face and tossed them aside, just as the Visitors were forced out of the ring. Tom Hunter turned around to find Phoenix covering Cyberhemoth, and counted to three.
THE Casey Gains: What a well earned win! My hats off to those guys, a great cheating victory to become champions!
Edward Findleton: Well like I said, less than ethical but…the crowd is happy and I think earth might be saved!
Gregory Greystone had come into the ring and gathered the new champions together.
Gregory Greystone: Gentlemen, congratulations on becoming the new Tag Team Champions! How does the Firing Squad feel holding tag team gold?
Phoenix: Tonight, we were forced to go face to face against our greatest rivals. It was a tough battle, but ultimately, we came out on top!
Fun Fight Machine: We…we won. I am proud of that. I don’t know if I’m proud of how we won but-
Phoenix: These guys have been threatening everyone week after week, and now they’re toasts! The ends justify the means! So come on, let’s celebrate this victory as a win for the good guys!
Phoenix raised Fun Fight Machine’s arm up, and Fun seemed to force a smile. It dropped as he stared down at the discarded brass knuckles in the corner, but forced it back up as the titles were handed to them. With that, the new champions departed.
Edward Findleton: Well as one tag team match ends…another begins! No titles on the line this time, it’s just a good old fashioned grudge match!
The Solo Girls, Crystal Cyclone and Rachel made their way to the ring first, steel chairs in hand.
Eve Solace: Well correct me if I’m wrong, this is just a traditional tag team match, right?
THE Casey Gains: You’re so quick to judge Eve! Look, they’re putting them in the ring to sit on! We always see the old boxer sitting on a stool in the corner, these two can have chairs!
Sophie Lester’s music started up, and her and Kherti Bhakta came out riding on top of what appeared to be a tiger made out of scrap metal, decorated over an old van. The two came jumped off the roof of it and made their way to the ring. They stood on opposite turnbuckles and posed for crowd, until Crystal and Rachel picked up their chairs and hit them square in the back.
Eve Solace: So they’re for sitting?
THE Casey Gains: The blame for this lies solely on Kherti and Sophie, they should have expected that to happen!
Referee Mira Levenberg tried to get the assault to stop, but was powerless with the match now having started. However, the door to the tiger van opened, and Sabrina Nova rushed out, a cast on her arm. Rachel and Crystal hadn’t seen her exit, and she ran in behind, blasting Crystal first with the cast, then Rachel. She went over to help Kherti and Sophie up.
Gradually, all the competitors got to their feet and got situated, and the bell rang. The Marauder Sophie Lester looked enraged at that attack, but also prepared for battle as she locked up with Crystal. Sophie absolutely dominated Crystal Cyclone, and let her make a tag to Rachel. As Rachel ran in, she was met with a quick Spinebuster from Sophie Lester. Lester didn’t go for the pin, and a very hurt Rachel crawled back to an equally hurt Crystal and forced a tag to make Crystal legal.
Crystal Cyclone still wasn’t fully recovered, but tried to make the most of it. She jumped to the top rope and went for a springboard attack, but Lester was fully ready and caught her, heading a second Spinebuster. The Marauder again decided against the pin, but made the tag to Kherti Bhakta. Crystal Cyclone was in a daze, stumbling to her feet and walking right into The White Tiger, who hit her Straight Jacket German Suplex. Kherti went for the pin, and the match was over quickly.
Edward Findleton: Absolute domination by The Marauder and The White Tiger!
Eve Solace: The Spinebuster has put away a lot of wrestlers, but adding Kherti’s Straight Jacket German Suplex on top of it? Crystal Cyclone had no chance of kicking out of that.
Sabrina Nova rolled into the ring, taking Sophie’s hand in her good hand, and motioning to Kherti with her cast arm, and “raised” both of the victor’s hands up, then exited the ring.
Eve Solace: It’s a great sight to see, looking at the quality of wrestlers in the match. That right there can be the future of HAW’s women’s division!
Edward Findleton: The future is certainly bright! Well folks, we promised a lot of action, but we have some business to take care of before our next match. I don’t want to spoil it, but I just know I’m excited to find out what’s about to be said!
The camera turned to the entrance ramp. A shout of “Il Padrino E Qui” blasted before rolling into a rap-rock remix of Franco Mancini’s theme. After a few moments, the former World Champion emerged from behind the curtain, the crowd erupting. There was no smile on his face, but he none the less stared out across the arena and took it all in. He slowly made his way down to the ring and took a microphone.
Franco Mancini: The Godfather of professional wrestling is here! Yeah, that’s right. I’m back. Took a little bit of an extra break, I needed that. I’m not going to lie, that match last year against Douglas Brunswick took a lot out of me. Yeah, physically it was the toughest match I’ve ever been in…but mentally, coming so close and just coming up so…..yeah, whatever. I’m past that. I don’t think about that. I focus on the future, the next job! You see, I know that by being off these past two months, I’m pretty much out of the running of Destroy All Wrestlers at End of the Trail. I accept that, I can live with that.
The crowd began to boo, but he motioned for them to calm down.
Franco Mancini: But you see, I talked to Delilah recently, and she made me a promise. She told me I can get a match at End of the Trail, and to me it sounded like a good deal. I took it. So I already got a match scheduled for the fall. It’s going to be for the one title I’ve never won, the HAW National Championship! So I don’t care if it’s Tyler Ford, I don’t care if it’s Harvey Allison, I don’t care if it’s some other snake in the back who gets ahold of that gold..it don’t matter, because at End of the Trail, Franco Mancini will be the NEW…HAW National Champion!
He lifted his arms up as the crowd cheered, but only for a second as Harvey Allison’s music blasted through the arena. The National Champion slowly made his way down to the ring, posing in body builder flexes extra long for the cameras. As he got into the ring, he bumped into Franco acting like he didn’t see him, and did another flex. Harvey finally turned and was face to face with Franco Mancini. The former 5 time world champion looked annoyed, while Allison looked repulsed. He motioned for Franco to “shoo” out of the way. It took Mancini a few seconds, but he left the ring. As he made his back to the top, Tyler Ford’s theme started up.
The challenger came out in his steampunk attire, and walking down the ramp, stopped next to Mancini. Ford showed no fear, and was heard talking to Mancini
Tyler Ford: I’m beating him tonight, and I’m beating you next fall. Count on it.
With that Ford continued on, leaving Mancini to head to the back.
Edward Findleton: Well that was a lot to unpack before this National Championship match starts!
THE Casey Gains: All we know is Franco has a match for that title at End of the Trail, but he could be facing ANYBODY. The National Championship will need to be defended ATLEAST one more time before End of the Trail. There’s still Summit of Success! All this trash talk that just happened could mean nothing
Eve Solace: Whoever it is, I think they’ll have a huge champion’s advantage, they can potentially prepare half a year for an opponent!
Edward Findleton: And Eve, as you said, that’s a half a year away, but right now, it looks like this match is about to start!
After sizing each other up, Tyler Ford and Harvey Allison locked up in the center of the ring. While Harvey showed strength, Tyler showed technical prowess, quickly taking control. He tried to lay out Allison, and attempted a fast Cattle Mutilation but Harvey fought out of it. The National Champion turned the momentum with a solid uppercut that stunned Ford.
Allison started to take control, attempting multiple pinfall attempts but Ford managed to kick out each time. Allison appeared annoyed and seemed to get ready for the Sitout Jawbreaker, but Ford managed to grab his head, and get a chinlock applied to Allison. Allison came close to tapping out but managed to grab a rope, then rolled out of the ring, trying to get a breather.
As Harvey recovered, coming down the ramp, covered in bandages from head to toe, was Strawberry Bates Hill.
Edward Findleton: Is that Hill? What’s he doing here? And I thought he just burnt his face…
The still healing Hill went to check on Allison, making sure he was ok. Ford had seen enough and yelled for Hill to move. Tyler Ford took a running start towards the Hill and Allison, jumped to the top rope, and went for a springboard clothesline outside the ring. Harvey Allison saw this, and pushed Hill in front of him as a shield. Tyler Ford tried to change course in mid air to avoid Hill, but over corrected and came down hard on his ankle. As he hit the ground, Ford immediately began clutching his foot.
Eve Solace: We can have a serious injury here for Tyler Ford.
While most had concern, Allison didn’t. He quickly grabbed Ford and rolled him into the ring. He picked up Ford and got him to stand, essentially on one foot, then hit the Sitout Jawbreaker. Allison covered and picked up the victory.
Edward Findleton: And Handsome Harvey Allison retains!
As the title was awarded to Allison, he clutched it, overcome with joy at his victory. He exited the ring and saw Hill, and approached him.
Harvey Allison: We did it! We got a victory! This is why I have you around! You’re the second best!
Strawberry Bates Hill went to go for a hug with Harvey Allison, but Allison just held up his National Championship for the crowd, being drowned with boos. With that, the duo departed to the back.
Edward Findleton: Well, HAW has some great action, but so does VCW! Eve, can you give us an update on what’s gone down in the past month?
Eve Solace: Of course! The O’Toole Brothers have won the VCW Tag Team Championship, defeating The Jockey and The Thoroughbred, Diego Salazar and Enrique Mendoza…but after the match got attacked by El Termitas II and El Espectro! Adriana Gomez successfully defended herWomen’s title against a surprise challenger in Mysterie, and Leon Barron’s domination continued, as Tristan Parker was unable to become the new Men’s Champion.
THE Casey Gains: Always love to hear about what’s going on down in VCW, thank you Eve!
Edward Findleton: Yes, thank you! But it’s time to turn our attention to a match that’s been very, very personal.
There was no music playing, but a group of security guards escorted Pastor James down to the ring, with a second group quickly behind escorting Cole Arcane. The guards stayed in the ring, until the match was ready to begin. Security left, the bell rang, and with the ring clear, Arcane and James approached each other and immediately started trading punches.
Eventually Pastor James started to win the brawl, and got Arcane into an intense chinlock. Arcane was in pain, but then started to bite the arm of James, causing him to release the hold. Arcane hit some more strong chops on James, then clotheslined him over the ropes, Arcane going over with him to the outside. The battle continued outside the ring, with Arcane whipping James into the barricade, sending James sprawling on the ground. Arcane approached James but James simply delivered a solid kick to Cole’s knee, sending his knee backwards and causing him to fall.
James recovered enough to pick up Cole Arcane and get him in position for the Cobra Clutch Slam, which he delivered right onto the edges of the steel ring steps, causing Arcane to grab his spine. James rolled in quickly to stop a ten count and back out, ready to still fight around the ring.
Eve Solace: The match could be over here but I don’t think it matters about picking up a quick win, I think this match is about sending a final statement to their foe.
James continued beating down Arcane outside the ring, and referee Tom Hunter rolled out to get the two back in, but James pushed Hunter away. Arcane used that opportunity to poke James in the eye, who stumbled up the ramp. With his back turned, Cole Arcane hit a Running Bulldog, sending James head into the metal. As James finally turned over, his forehead was now starting to bleed. Cole Arcane stood over James, but instead of trying to take him to the ring, simply spit down into his face, mixing in with the blood. Finally, he grabbed James and started to lead him to the ring.
As the two men got back into the ring, Arcane threw James towards the ropes and started to choke him, only stopping before getting a DQ. Arcane started to choke James against the ropes again, but this time James took his hands and grabbed the sides of Arcane’s lips and mouth, then started to pull. Arcane immediately let go and escaped, clutching at his mouth which was now bleeding.
The two men sized each other up, both bleeding, and began trading punches again, back and forth and fast. James hit a quick elbow on Arcane stunning him, then wound up for a huge punch. Arcane ducked behind James and hit a quick Running Bulldog. Cole Arcane quickly covered Pastor James, and picked up the win.
Edward Findleton: An absolutely horrifying match…two men who just brutalized each other…but Cole Arcane wins!
THE Casey Gains: For a non-hardcore match, this got bad. I’d hate to see what would have happened if there were no rules.
Arcane stood over the fallen Pastor James, then put his boot onto his face. He dug the bottom into the face of James more, causing more damage to his face, before the security rushed into the ring again, taking Arcane away. Cole Arcane finally had a small smile and raised his hands to the air as the escort took him to the back, while the remaining staff went to help Pastor James.
With the ring finally clear, the MuscleGang’s theme started up, and coming down to the ring came Crash, Lovable Liam, Fredric St. Pierre and Scarred Badger, who look unenthused.
Crash MuscleGate: Good evening Chicago! What a great crowd tonight! Guess what? You’re all about to witness history as we induct the newest member of the MuscleGang…Scarred Badger!
Frederic St. Pierre: He is tough. He is strong. He is honest. We all believe he can make a good fit.
Lovable Liam: Mr. Badger…how are you feeling right now?
Scarred Badger: Regretful.
Crash MuscleGang: And that translates to, he loves it and his heart is fluttering in excitement like a butterfly! So I declare Scarred Badger…an official member of the MuscleGang! Three cheers for Scarred Badger! Hip Hip, Hooray! Hip hip, Hooray! Hip Hip-
The final cheer was cut off by Peter “Carnage” Horn’s music. Ruining the celebration was The Shadow Hand, as Jonah Webb, Peter Horn, Jet Black, and Lenin May made their way down to the ring. As they all got inside, a 4 on 4 staredown took place, until Jonah Webb yanked a microphone away.
Jonah Webb: ….Hooray. Hooray, that this segment is done. See, there’s been another unadvertised match put on the card. Jet Black and The Demon Lord Lenin May in a tag match. Now, we don’t want any trouble, we want these guys fresh for their match. So consider the music that played just now a…friendly nudge, like at an award show when the speaker goes on too long. You four are out of time.
Reluctantly, the MuscleGang left the ring, leaving it to the Shadow Hand. Their opponents quickly came out, RJ Bu and Niko Green.
Edward Findleton: An unadvertised match, how exciting! But I think the MuscleGang is a bit peeved at their celebration cut short.
THE Casey Gains: They’re just being selfish. They got their induction, we can’t have them out here tonight. This is a hugely important match.
Eve Solace: I’ll agree with your last sentence Casey. Bu and Green are former tag champs who haven’t quite captured the magic they had previously. They want to get going, but Black and May defeating former champions will solidify their spot.
The match began with Niko Green in the ring doing well against Jet Black and clearly holding his own. As he tagged to RJ Bu, he kept the momentum going until he saw a woman in the crowd. With Black down, Bu took the opportunity to roll out of the ring and give her his number. However, Black took that opportunity to tag in Lenin May, who quickly dove out of the ring onto Bu.
From then on, May and Black controlled the match, isolating Bu. Black had gone for a cover on Bu but Green broke it up, only for May to jump to the top rope and hit a flying clothesline to Green. Black then bent down to one knee, placing Bu over it. May jumped to the top again, and hit a Diving Knee Drop from the top rope. Black quickly covered Bu, and The Shadow Hand picked up the victory.
Edward Findleton: What a match, and the teamwork of Jet Black and Lenin May looked on point tonight!
Eve Solace: Maybe we’ll be seeing The Shadow Hand against The Firing Squad next fall? I might be getting ahead of myself but that sounds like it could be a great match!
Edward Findleton: We’ll have to see, but up next, it’s the Women’s National Championship match as No Nonsense Bethany Watts takes on her latest challenger.
Bethany Watts made her entrance, walking down to the ring, focused as ever. She didn’t cut any promo, just handed the belt to referee Mira Levenberg, and focused on the ramp.
There was silence for a moment, until a new theme with a hard southern guitar started up. Walking out from the curtains was The Executioness, Elena Dubois.
Edward Findleton: Ohhh nelly! It’s Elena Dubois! The Executioness has made the jump up to HAW!
Eve Solace: She had a great reign as VCW Women’s Champion, only losing it last month! This is a huge debut match for Dubois!
With a confident strut, Dubois walked to the ring. She didn’t fear Watts, and as she got into the ring, got face to face with her and gave Watts a push. Watts pushed back hard, sending Dubois to the ground. She stood up, smiled, and gave a nod of appreciation. Levenberg seemed to know things were about to explode, and called for the bell, and the two women immediately started clobbering each other.
The match was as even as it could be, and the pace was non-stop. Neither woman took a breather, the only changes in offensive momentum coming from reversals.
The Executioness was on the attack, running off the ropes and going for a hurricanrana, but Watts held to Elena’s legs. She lifted Dubois into the air and caught her, then hit the Backbreaker. Watts immediately went for the cover, but to her surprise, Dubois kicked out at 2.9
Eve Solace: Unbelievable! I don’t think Bethany Watts can believe it!
Watts was getting visibly angry. She waited for Dubois to regain her footing, motioning for her to get up. As a shaky Dubois finally stood, Watts got up into her face and screamed. Dubois didn’t back down, and then screamed right back into Bethany’s face. With that, the two started punching each other, faster and faster. Watts seemed to get a solid punch on Dubois, sending her back towards the ropes. Dubois used her momentum and launched from the ropes forward, and hit a Running European Upper Cut square in the jaw of Bethany Watts. The punch seemed to knock Watts right out as she hit the ground, and Dubois immediately covered. With that, Mira Levenberg got the three count, and a new champion was crowned.
Edward Findleton: And what a match! We have a brand new National Champion! The Executioness, Elena Dubois!
THE Casey Gains: Just non stop fighting in that ring. Both of these women fought like hell. I’ll tip my hat to both of them.
As Dubois celebrated with the title, Watts slowly got to her feet. She crept up behind Elena, then grabbed her shoulder and forcefully turned her around. But no attack happened, Watts extended her hand. Elena Dubois stared her in the eye, and shook it right back, and Bethany Watts exited the ring leaving it to the new champion to take it all in.
Edward Findleton: Well folks, a lot goes on at HAW, and we’ve got some exciting behind the scenes hires! Starting in VCW, Eagle Beak has brought on a great team as head bookers and trainers, Musical Lifeguard Chairs, Mr. Lifeguard and Lazor! VCW also plans to sign some new referees, as Dillon Bartos has been promoted to HAW, and we’re signing Heidi O’Neill from Alpha Wolf Wrestling! Speaking of owners, Delilah informe us that Freezerman should be able to get back to his duties next fall, and finally, some huge news that someone here is going to enjoy…HAW Lockup’s new color commentator is going to be…Athena!
Eve Solace: That’s going to be an absolute honor calling matches with her! I really can’t wait for that!
Edward Findleton: A lot of excitement for next fall indeed! But first…we’ve got a match next, the HAW Men’s World Championship!
The Champion, Douglas Brunswick, made his entrance first. While not normally one for major theatrics, this time his entrance was all about scanning the arena and keeping an eye behind him with constant glances, ready for any sneak attack. As he got to the ring, he handed the title to referee Dennis Thompson, then stood in the middle of the ring, circling and ready for a potential appearance anywhere.
The lights in the arena went out, and the music of Dr. Insidious started up. A green light shined on the stage as a fog emerged. The light went out, and moments later the green light filled the ring, and Insidious was right in front of Brunswick, but only for a second as it went dark again. The ring filled with green light again, no sign of Insidious. As the music built up, the arena went full green lighting, and Dr. Insidious stepped out of the entry way onto the stage.
Edward Findleton: What……the hell?
Insidious walked slowly to the ring, his pace showing no hurry. As Insidious entered the ring, he stared straight into Brunswick’s soul, before heading over to his corner. Referee Dennis Thompson rang the bell, and the match began.
As Brunswick and Dr. Insidious stood across the ring from each other, Douglas Brunswick went on the attack first. He did some strikes onto Insidious, but nothing seemed to phase him, even after repeated kicks focusing on the legs of Insidious. Brunswick went for another kick but Insidious caught it, and yanked Brunswick off his feet before catapulting him to the turnbuckle.
Insidious started to dominate, methodically slamming Brunswick to the mat multiple times. Brunswick tried to get some momentum when he was free and went for a flying crossbody, but Insidious caught him in mid air.
THE Casey Gains: Brunswick is looking like Norbert Cox right about…
Insidious slammed the caught Brunswick to the ground.
THE Casey Gains: Now.
Insidious tried to follow the same script as with the rookie wrestler, and picked Brunswick up for a gorilla press slam, lining his head up right next to the turnbuckle. He let go, but Brunswick maneuvered his body to avoid the turnbuckle, but couldn’t fight gravity and hit the ground hard.
Brunswick tried to recover using the ropes, and Insidious walked towards him. Brunswick kicked at Dr. Insidious’ feet and pulled the rope down, sending him tumbling out of the ring, giving Brunswick time to recover. Insidious seemed annoyed and got back to the ring. As he climbed through the ropes, Brunswick pushed them up and elbowed Insidious in the jaw. Brunswick kept maneuvering the ropes, and soon enough the doctor was caught up. Brunswick wasted no time and started delivering strikes to the defenseless body of Dr. Insidious, who finally got free after a relentless onslaught.
Brunswick approached Insidious and started to try and lock in some submission, but Dr. Insidious easily overpowered him, giving a headbutt, then whipping Douglas into the turnbuckle, and he stood there dazed. Insidious went to the opposite side of the ring and lined up Brunswick, looking like he was going for some sort of tackle or spear. He charged Brunswick but Brunswick dodged at the last moment, sending the doctor mask first into the steel ring post. Insidious now seemed in real pain, and stunned. It took a few moments for him to move, and he stumbled backwards, right into the arms of Douglas Brunswick who quickly hit the Lifting Reverse DDT. Brunswick covered quickly, and Dennis Thompson got three and rang the bell. Exhausted and battered, Douglas Brunswick rolled off Dr. Insidious and finally got up to take a breather. Thompson retrieved the Men’s World Championship belt and handed it to Brunswick. Proud of his win, Douglas Brunswick held the title up over the unconscious Dr. Insidious, the camera zooming in to show his closed eyes….until they opened. The lights went out again for a few seconds, before coming back on. Dr. Insidious was gone.
Brunswick looked around the arena, unsure of what to make of what just happened. He grasped his title and not wanting a long celebration, raced to the back.
Moments later, the Dystopian’s music hit, and they made their laser filled entrance, and grabbed microphones.
Void-N: Once again, we have restored order, and we remain tag team champions.
Dark Raven: There will be others who challenge us, no doubt. But listen carefully: You don’t know what forces you are dealing with.
Void-N: If you rise up, we will put you down. You can fight, but you will concede in the end. This is the future you need to accept.
Dark Raven: The next time you’ll see us with these titles is about when the world starts to sleep, and the world starts to wear a beautiful grey and brown uniform.
Alicia McCarthy: Whoa whoa! Hold up!
Walking to the top of the ramp was Alicia McCarthy, holding a microphone.
Alicia McCarthy: I hear a lot of talk. Talk is cheap! You won a couple of matches, you won those titles, that’s fair. But you won’t be holding those into the winter. As promsied, I found a partner who is VERY eager to challenge you.
Alicia turned around towards the entrance way. There was a pause, as the crowd waited in anticipation. Then, the first few thrash metal notes of Sekino’s music started up, the crowd rising to their feet as The Stunt Pilot walked on the stage to join Alicia.
Edward Findleton: Sekino! The Dystopians might have been bitten off a bit more than they can chew!
THE Casey Gains: These two combined…wow, that’s going to be a savage team.
Sekino and Alicia marched down to the ring, showing no fear. The got up into the faces of the Dystopians, who pushed them away.
Dark Raven: Your threats of violence and dismissals of our accomplishments are hardly worthy of being acknowledged. What you SHOULD do, is tuck your tail between your legs and head back now, before you end up looking like fools.
At that point, there was another interruption, as new punk music started up. Making their HAW debut, The Revellers casually walked onto the stage.
Edward Findleton: That’s Teri and Roo! The Revellers!
Eve Solace: They hail from the land down under, but more importantly, they’ve had a huge beef with The Dystopians in VCW.
Roo was chewing gum, grabbed Teri’s arm and pointed to the stage. Teri nodded and then faked a yawn, not caring about the in ring tension. The two then bopped their heads to their music as they slowly walked to the ring, slapping fans hands and just taking their time.
As they got into the ring, The Revellers bent down to look at the titles The Dystopians were holding in their hands, observing and taking in all the details. The two woman stood up and pointed, indicating they wanted the titles. Void-N rolled her eyes, but at that point Teri and Roo grabbed the titles. A brief tug-of-war ensued, only for Teri and Roo to let go and clothesline Dark Raven and Void-N.
A scuffle broke out and the two teams battled in the ring, with the Revellers ultimately overcoming and launching the Dystopians out. The titles were on the ground, and Teri and Roo picked them up. At that point, Alicia and Sekino jumped them from behind. The two were ruthless and merciless, beating them down while The Dystopians just watched from outside the ring. Finally Alicia and Sekino stopped and picked up the titles. They didn’t raise them in their hands, instead tossing them outside at the feet of The Dystopians. Frustrated, the champs picked them up and went to the back. Sekino and Alicia took one last look at the Revellers and followed, as Teri and Roo eventually recovered and exited the ring.
Edward Findleton: Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s just about time. Our Main Event for the evening, Penny “The Hammer” Downs defends her HAW Women’s World Championship against Moonlight!
Moonlight’s theme started up, and she walked down to the ring, laptop in hand, and Smiling Sally by her side. As she got to the ring, she entered a few final commands in her computer, looked at Sally, then placed it down near the far side ring steps.
Penny Downs followed next, her title in one hand and a hammer in the other. She pointed the hammer towards Moonlight, mouthing some words as she made her way down. She placed the hammer in her corner’s steps, then handed the title to referee Brenda Moses. Brenda held it up, gave the title away, and the bell rang to begin the match.
Penny and Moonlight quickly locked up in the ring. Moonlight proved to be no pushover as she started to overpower Penny, then blast her with some chops to take control. She tried to deliver her Gourdbuster to Penny a few times, but the champ had it scouted out. These reversals allowed Penny to hit some combination strikes each time, slowing Moonlight down and finally knocking the wind out of her with a quick german suplex.
As Penny recovered and waited for Moonlight to get up, she spotted Smiling Sally. Sally simply stood outside the ring, but maintained eye contact with Penny. Penny decided to take some power into her hands and ran out of the ring and started attacking Sally. Sally was initially surprised by the onslaught from Penny, but managed to eventually push Penny away. Penny scrambled to her feet and backed up, and Sally began to chase her. She ran around the ring pushing a security guard off a steel chair and grabbed it. She threw the chair at Sally who caught it, then delivered a dropkick to the chair, smashing it into Smiling Sally’s face. Sally fell the ground and seemed unconscious
Edward Findleton: Penny Downs might have just evened this up to a one on one!
The moment of triumph didn’t last long, as Moonlight had crept out of the ring, grabbed Penny and picked her up for the Gourdbuster, hitting it right onto the floor outside the ring. Penny Downs was out cold, and Moonlight desperately tried to get the dead weight into the ring. When she finally got Penny in the ring, she went for a cover, but Penny put a leg on the rope at the count of two.
It was now Moonlight dominating, whipping Penny into the turnbuckles and hitting running clotheslines and choke holds on the ropes. The champion was wearing down, but as she got irish whipped towards the turnbuckle again, she gathered her momentum and jumped to the middle rope. Moonlight charged but Penny jumped backwards, connecting with a springboard uppercut to Moonlight.
Moonlight was now completely down, her only movement was her breathing. Penny was hurting but managed to get to her feet, looking down at Moonlight. Her gaze then turned to Smiling Sally, the laptop in Moonlight’s corner, and finally over to the hammer in Penny’s corner. She went over and grabbed the hammer first, then the laptop. As Penny picked up the laptop, Smiling Sally sat straight up. She got to her feet and approached the apron, as Penny tossed the laptop to the mat. Sally got up onto the ring, and Penny pointed down to the laptop, then raised the hammer above her head. Right before she could bring it down, Moonlight grabbed the hammer. Moonlight hit a quick kick, then picked up Penny, hitting the Gourdbuster right onto the laptop. Moonlight went for the cover, and picked up the three count.
Edward Findleton: And look at that! Moonlight has defeated Penny Downs! We have a new HAW Women’s World Champion!
As Brenda Moses went to get the title, the lit collar on Sally’s neck flickered. Moonlight opened up the laptop frantically, it’s screen cracker and in better shape, but she entered some commands and the flickering stopped. Moonlight breathed a sigh of relief, and then just as quickly a huge smile crept on her face as the championship title was given to her. She climbed the ropes and posed, the audience showing their disapproval of her championship.
Eve Solace: The crowd doesn’t seem happy but Moonlight is showing, she’s not only a great wrestler but she does have good strategy going for in these matches.
THE Casey Gains: Penny “The Hammer” Downs got too distracted with using an actual hammer to solve her doll issue. She took her eye off the prize for just a second and this is the result, a new champion.
Edward Findleton: I’m sure Moonlight will be celebrating tonight! ….I’m not sure about Smiling Sally but she’ll probably be there too! A tough loss for Penny, but Moonlight will be entering our fall season as Women’s Champion! We’re out of time for tonight, and we’ll see you in a few months! Good night!
