Dark Matches: Moonlight defeated Maisie Lane, The Rookie Kyle Higgins defeated Avery Rage
The HAW Theme played to start the show.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW! We’re in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and one week away from HAW’s Summit of Success! In action tonight, it’s the Visitors, Cyberhemoth, Kenneth Cobb, and The Venator, going against the Samurais of Power!
Pastor James’ music started, and he came with Peter “Carnage” Horn, Jonah Webb, Dixie Boyle, and Ivy Clarke.
THE Casey Gains: Well before we get to that match, it looks like we need to deal with these guys
Pastor James: Brothers and sisters, we are gathered here today to talk about judgment. Judge not, and you will not be judged. It is not my place to judge anyone. I will not condemn any man for how they behave and act…but I believe a man named Cole Arcane judged me. Last week after a hard fought match against Jonah Webb, I went in the ring to congratulate Mr. Arcane…and he ran! I think both as an act of cowardice, and that he thought I would…hurt him? I would never dream of hurting Cole Arcane like that, it’s just not right. Which is why I am challenging him to a match, next week at Summit of Success. Cole Arcane, if you aren’t a coward, you’ll come out here, meet me in this ring, and accept, shaking my hand like you were always supposed to!
After a brief pause, Arcane’s music started, and Cole went straight to the ring, showing no fear.
Cole Arcane: James, ever since I got here, you’ve been a constant thorn in my side. So I’m going to accept this match.
James smiled and extended his hand, but Arcane shook his head no. Jonah Webb and Peter Horn exchanged a glance of confusion, and Arcane pointed to them.
Cole Arcane: …But I’m not a moron. I know these guys will be there. I know those women will be there. So let’s even the playing field. I want a match where someone not only has to get pinned…but then has to stay down for another ten count. A match where some weapons can even up this numbers advantage you have, and a match that will be perfect for San Antonio next week…a Texas Death Match!
Pastor James looked shocked, but turned back to his crew. Jonah Webb gave a nod, and James extended his hand again. Cole Arcane shook it, and the two stared each other down. James finally broke the shake, and left the ring with his companions.
Edward Findleton: A Texas Death Match, next week! Pastor James vs Cole Arcane!
THE Casey Gains: I’m not sure this is smart for Arcane. Yeah, he can use weapons…but so can Horn, Webb, Boyle, and Clarke. It’s a really dangerous situation he’s going to find himself in.
Backstage, Freezerman was in his office, with Frederic St. Pierre and Douglas Brunswick.
Freezerman: So, last week, Liam wanted to prove why he deserved to be number one contender for the World Championship. Unfortunately for him, he lost. In good faith, I can’t put him in that title match. So, it’s between the two of you. You can make your case-
Freezerman was cut off, as Harvey Allison, Strawberry Bates Hill, and Mayor Briggs all burst into the room.
Strawberry Bates Hill: I deserve to fight for the National championship! I beat Demon Lord Lenin May!
Harvey Allison: I’ve beaten Lenin May atleast fifty times in my life! That doesn’t matter. Freeze, who beat your potential number one contender? ME! I did!
Mayor Briggs: Mate, I think you shouldn’t listen to any of them. I say, give ol Briggs the week off!
Freezerman: You are interrupting a very important meeting. Wait your turn. St. Pierre, Brunswick, this is your time to convince me.
St. Pierre and Brunswick both spoke up at the same time, requesting a match against each other. The two shared a glance of acknowledgement.
Douglas Brunswick: I think it’s fair. The best man wins.
Frederic St. Pierre: Oui.
Freezerman: …….Ok…I like this. I like this a lot, I can work with that. So next week at Summit of Success, it will be Frederic St. Pierre vs Douglas Brunswick in a number one contender’s match. And that inspires me…Mayor Briggs, you will defend your title as well as Summit of Success. Harvey Allison will take on Strawberry Bates Hill in our main event tonight, and the loser is out of the running!
Briggs smiled, putting his arms around Hill and Allison, bringing them in close to himself, as well as the sitting Brunswick and St. Pierre in front of him.
Mayor Briggs: Excellent idea chap. I like it. I wish everyone in here good luck!
Edward Findleton: Well we’ve got a main event tonight, and a good match next week!
THE Casey Gains: Familiar territory for Brunswick, as he lost a number one contenders match at Summit of Success 2023. St. Pierre meanwhile will need to rely on his veteran skill set, that should be a good one Edward.
The lights inside in the arena went out, and The Visitors made their entrance. Cyberhemoth, Cobb, and The Venator were accompanied by Glenny Pax. The Samurais of Power, Sensei Onaga, Ozzie Reagan and Trickshot came out next with new theme music, ready for battle.
In the six man tag, both teams were able to get in some good offense, and the Samurais had clearly scouted the Visitors. However, a tag to a fresher Cyberhemoth changed momentum, and he was able to deliver a Powerbomb Shoulderbreaker to Onaga, pinning him in 9:53.
Edward Findleton: RJ Bu and Niko Green will need to watch out for that next week, that can be their future, as Cyberhemoth’s power is nearly unstoppable.
THE Casey Gains: This proves it, you can scout your opponent, but once you’re in the ring with a man like that who towers over you, you need to have more than just strategy.
Edward Findleton: Agreed Casey! Let’s now check in backstage with Franco Mancini, who is about to get attacked! Wait, who wrote that in my notes?
Franco was walking around cautiously, looking over his shoulder. As he approached an intersection, Franco hugged the wall, and waited a few moments before peering around it. Franco saw it was clear, then gave a relaxed sigh and continued on. A large amount of backstage crew members then walked by, carrying different bits of equipment and multiple people bumping into him. A frustrated Franco turned around and yelled back at them.
Franco Mancini: I’m the World Champion! Watch where you’re going! I almost fought y’all! ….Bunch of schmucks.
As Franco Turned back around, he came fast to face with a clothesline from King Donovan. Donovan continued attacking Franco, knocking him down. King Donovan grabbed Franco and led him back to the intersection, and picked Mancini up so his back was out. King Donovan then ran towards the wall, slamming Franco Mancini backfirst into the edge of the wall. Franco grabbed his back and screamed in pain, while Donovan looked down at him.
King Donovan: Expect more of that next week. Maybe even before our match! Punk.
With that, Donovan walked away leaving Franco writhing on the ground.
Back in the arena, the music of Mitchell Row started up, and he came down to the ring flanked by Kitty Kayleen and Georgios Stanellis.
Mitchell Row: Last week…was a nightmare. My mansion…was broken into. Belongings were stolen. A crime was committed against me, and the security system was tampered with. I didn’t know what to tell the police…but then I talked to Georgios.
Georgios Stanellis: That’s right. I came back from my errands just in time to see someone fleeing the scene of the crime!
Mitchell Row: Now, this person has two choices. I will either contact law enforcement, and have them arrested and sent to prison…OR….they can accept a match with me, next week at Summit of Success. The choice is theirs.
At that point, Scarred Badger showed up on the jumbotron, holding a nice suitcase.
Scarred Badger: This look familiar? Yeah. I think it does. Row, you don’t need to try and keep this a secret. It was me. I disabled the security system, and I stole this suitcase. And if you want a match next week…I’m happy to take it. But here’s the the thing Row….you ever hear of a…deadman’s switch? I’ve got a watch on that’s set to reveal the contents of this suitcase if I get knocked unconscious. So maybe…just maybe…you should be hoping that I win the match. Just a thought. I’ll see you next week.
The jumbotron turned off, and Kitty and Georgios looked absolutely terrified. Row tried to calm both down, and led them to the back.
THE Casey Gains: What a great responsible man Row is! Taking care of his family!
Edward Findleton: Well another match is set, Scarred Badger vs Mitchell Row! This might be the first ever “whoever wins, loses” match in HAW!
Backstage, Hazel Glover was walking down a hallway looking at her phone outside a door.
Hazel Glover: It says the driver left the food in this room…that’s strange.
Hazel opened the door, and the room was dark, save for a single light hanging above a table, illuminating a brown paper bag. Hazel slowly walked into the darkened room, and for a brief moment, the ceiling lights turned on, revealing a larger room with a figure standing still in the distance. The ceiling lights went off again, and Hazel approached the table cautiously. As she got next to it, the ceiling lights turned on again, this time showing it to be Smiling Sally, closer and standing still and staring ahead. Hazel was now very afraid, and quickly grabbed the bag, when the lights turned on again and Sally was right besides her.
Hazel screamed and rushed out of the room, bumping into the rest of the Stable.
Zoey Chambers: What’s wrong?!
Hazel Glover: Sally! She’s in the room! She’s stalking me!
Jenna Ingram opened the door, which now had all lights on. On the table where the food used to be, was a small, toy smiling sally doll.
Jenna Ingram: This is what you were afraid of?
Hazel Glover: ….No…she was…here…I saw her…
Jenna Ingram: We got a big match against them next week. I need your head in the game, ok?
Hazel nodded, and the Stable left the room, as Hazel took once last glance over her shoulder. As The Stable walked away, the passed Penny “The Hammer” Downs who was on the phone.
Penny Downs: I’m not afraid of her. I need to prove I’m a worthy champion, I’m going to win and-
Penny was attacked from behind by Sekino. Sekino got an upper hand, but Penny started to fight back. Penny charged at Sekino and lept at her, but Sekino dodged sending Penny headfirst into a water cooler, knocking it over. Sekino picked the mostly filled water tank up and tried to slam it onto Penny, but Penny rolled out of the way. She tried to stand but slipped on the water, and Sekino got a solid kick to Penny’s back. Sekino placed the watertank on a table so it would leak out, then grabbed a nearby towel and placed it over Penny’s face, effectively waterboarding her. Penny continued to struggle, until HAW officials and security came in to break it up.
As medics tended to Penny, trying to catch her breath, Sekino chuckled and walked away.
Back at ringside, the music of Strawberry Bates Hill started up.
Edward Findleton: That’s quite some drama going down backstage with the HAW Woman’s division…but we are heading to the main event now!
Strawberry Bates Hill made his entrance first, looking optimistic. Harvey Allison followed next, with his usual cocky grin.
As the match started, Hill and Allison were evenly matched, with momentum being swapped back and forth, and several near falls. After the fourth near fall, Mayor Briggs started walking down the ramp.
THE Casey Gains: I think the National Champ is looking to get a close look at his competition!
Edward Findleton: Oh I’m sure that’s exactly why he’s here!
Briggs calmly walked up to the ring steps and entered the ring. Referee Dennis Thompson demanded Briggs leave the ring, but Briggs acted as if Thompson wasn’t even there. As Harvey and Bates both stood up and saw Briggs, the National Champion delivered a double clothesline, leaving Dennis Thompson no choice but to ring the bell. Briggs casually took a microphone.
Mayor Briggs: Since neither competitor won, then that means…neither get a match at Summit of Success! G’night, see you next week, I love each of ya!
Briggs exited the ring, and started walking up the ramp. However before going backstage, Freezerman stepped out from behind the curtain with a mic.
Freezerman: Briggs, earlier tonight…I didn’t say the winner gets to face. I said…the loser will NOT face you. The way I see it, neither of these men lost tonight…so next week at Summit of Success, you’ll defend against both Hill and Allison! Good night, I’ll see you next week in the ring, I love you!
Freezerman patted a shocked Briggs on the back and departed, while Harvey Allison and Bates Hill both looked pleased with the announcement.
Edward Findleton: What a shocker to end the show! We’ll have to see if Briggs can weasel his way out of this one! We’ll see you next week at Summit of Success! Goodnight!
