Dark Matches: Bethany Watts and Witchmere defeated Nu Iota (Natasha York and Isabella Dawson), Rough Hog Reid Harrison defeated Marc Sawyer, The Firing Squad (Phoenix and Fun Fight Machine) defeated The Master Bassers (Dale Waters and Scott Fisher)
HAW Summit of Success kicked off with the HAW theme song.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW Summit of Success! We’ve got some great matches ahead, titles on the line Mayor Briggs facing Strawberry Bates Hill and Harvey Allison, The Visitors against Bu and Green, The Stable vs The Strange Crew, Penny “The Hammer” Downs against Sekino the Stunt Pilot, and of course Franco Mancini defending against King Donovan.
THE Casey Gains: The non-title matches are just as important. Pastor James vs Cole Arcane, Mitchell Row vs Scarred Badger, and we’re starting off with Douglas Brunswick and Frederic St. Pierre for the #1 contender match!
At that point, Douglas Brunswick’s music started up, and he walked to the top of the ramp. Brunswick took a deep breath and cracked his neck, before heading down to the ring, staring straight ahead the whole time.
St. Pierre followed, and had Lovable Liam by his side, who was holding the French flag and trying to pump up St. Pierre. As Frederic got to the ring and stood in his corner, Liam whispered into St. Pierre’s ear and he nodded. He went to the middle of the ring and extended his hand. Brunswick nodded, approached, and the two gave a quick shake. They broke off, and the match began.
The match was slow out of the gate, with St. Pierre getting in early submission holds. That didn’t last long, as the action started to pick up, and each competitor was giving it their all. St. Pierre kept trying to hit the Butterfly DDT while Brunswick kept trying to deliver the Lifting Reverse DDT, but neither wrestler was able to pull off their DDT.
Brunswick eventually got St. Pierre down, then looked to the ropes and began climbing.
THE Casey Gains: Brunswick rarely goes up top, but he’s looking desperate!
Brunswick was on the top rope and turned his back. He took a deep breath, hesitated, and jumped, attempting a moonsault. St. Pierre rolled out of the way, and Brunswick crashed to the mat. St. Pierre quickly grabbed Brunswick, and managed to give the Butterfly DDT.
Edward Findleton: St. Pierre finally hits it!
Frederic crawled to Brunswick and covered him. As referee Tom Hunter counted, Brunswick put his foot on the rope right before the 3 count.
Edward Findleton: I can’t believe it!
THE Casey Gains: The match continues, but St. Pierre is looking at Tom Hunter in shock!
St. Pierre tried to get Brunswick up, but with a burst of energy, Brunswick got behind St. Pierre, and quickly hit a Lifting Reverse DDT. Completely spent, Brunswick collapsed to the ground, crawled to St. Pierre, and put an arm over his chest. Tom Hunter finally counted three, and called for the bell at a time of 15:26.
Edward Findleton: And Brunswick does it! He’s going to End of the Trail!
THE Casey Gains: Barely. He’s barely going, but he’s going. Both of these guys gave their soul in this match, and the difference might have been ring positioning.
Liam helped St. Pierre up, while Brunswick struggled on his own. As St. Pierre looked dejected, Brunswick was now the first to extend his hand. St. Pierre gave a reluctant shake, and left the ring with Liam.
Edward Findleton: What a match! The question now is, who will Brunswick face? We’ll find out later. But up next, it’s the National Championship Match!
Strawberry Bates Hill came out first, excited and pumping up the crowd, slapping hands with the fans on the way to the ring. Harvey Allison followed, slowly walking out and posing, showing off his physique. Allison took a slow walk to the ring, smiling and ignoring the booing crowd.
The HAW National Champion came out next, with Bigg Pimpin’ Alex and The United States behind him. Instead of his usual sly smile, Briggs looked angered that he had to participate in this match.
Edward Findleton: And Mayor Briggs is STILL upset he has to defend against Hill and Allison!
THE Casey Gains: I heard him pleading to Freezerman earlier today to still change the match. Briggs is going to need to put that behind him, and just focus on wrestling tonight.
As the match began, the three men circled each other, and Hill and Allison locked up, giving Briggs a chance to roll out of the ring. Allison and Hill started clobbering each other, paying no attention to Briggs.
Edward Findleton: These two have had some history, going back to VCW!
THE Casey Gains: And Briggs is outside the ring smiling and loving it!
Briggs kept outside the ring, but Bates managed to reverse Allison, and the two had a quick staredown, before turning their heads towards Mayor Briggs. The two went outside the ring and surrounded him, and got him involved in the match.
The triple threat aspect of the match now began to play out, as each man got near falls, but there were also pin break ups. As Briggs failed a pin attempt on Allison, he asked The United States for a chair, who slid one into the ring. Briggs took the chair and turned around, but Hill kicked the chair right into Briggs face. Briggs looked knocked out, and Hill went for the cover. At the last moment, Mayor Briggs kicked out, and Hill was astonished.
Strawberry Bates Hill stood up and grabbed the chair, then argued with referee Dennis Thompson, who emphasized his final decision was a two count. Hill’s shoulders slumped, and he shook his head, still not believing it. Harvey Allison was now recovering, and Hill eyed him up, looking to take aim with the chair. As Allison got to his feet, he stared Hill down and shook his head.
Harvey Allison: You can’t do it! I told you!
Hill shook his head again, not wanting to listen to Allison. Harvey kept yelling at him, and Hill finally screamed. He turned towards Mayor Briggs who had gotten to his knees, and hit Briggs in the back with the chair. Hill threw the chair down and sat in the corner, and Allison quickly covered Briggs.
Edward Findleton: What’s going on?! That’s one, two, three! Harvey Allison is the new HAW National Champion!
THE Casey Gains: Did Hill just give up?!
As Harvey was awarded the title, he held it, smiling proud, then walked over to the sitting Hill, who was averting his gaze. Allison helped Hill up, then patted him on the back. As Harvey Allison left the ring, Hill seemed to follow him, not proud of his actions.
Edward Findleton: I’m just shocked…we usually expect Briggs to come up with crazy plans but…did Harvey and Bates have this planned?
THE Casey Gains: I don’t know Edward, I honestly don’t. That ending is the last thing I expected.
The lights in the arena went off, until the spotlight shone on the top of the stage, and the music of the Visitors began.
Glenny Pax and Cyberhemoth came out, accompanied by The Venator and Kenneth Cobb and Visitor minions. The champs followed, as RJ Bu and Niko Green walked out alongside the Samurai’s of Power.
The match started out early in favor of Bu and Green, but sensing the trouble, The Venator and Cobb, and Visitors started to interfere. The Samurai’s refused to let that fly, as Onaga, Ozzie, and Trickshot all rushed in to fight off the interference. The battle between the non-legal competitors spilled out of the ring, up the ring, and into the back. It became a fair two on two, but the distractions allowed Glenny and Cyberhemoth to gain control.
The two isolated Bu, beating him down, preventing him from getting a tag, until Bu got a lucky uppercut to the jaw of Cyberhemoth. With both men hurt, Bu managed to get the hot tag to Niko Green, as Cyberhemoth tagged in Glenny Pax.
Edward Findleton: Green is fired up!
Niko Green looked like he was about to line up for the Side Death Valley Driver, but at that point, The Venator came from the crowd. Green turned his attention to the Venator, keeping an eye on him and inviting him into the ring. The Venator jumped to the side of the ring but didn’t enter. With Green distracted, Glenny recovered, grabbed Green, and hit the Standing Tornado DDT. Pax covered Green, and picked up the victory.
Edward Findleton: And we have new tag champions! The Visitors! Glenny Pax and Cyberhemoth are now champions!
THE Casey Gains: It doesn’t look like the Visitors are done with Bu and Green though!
While Glenny grabbed the titles, Cyberhemoth picked up RJ Bu, and The Venator grabbed Niko Green. The two Visitors took the unconscious former champions to the back, with Glenny leading the way holding both titles.
Edward Findleton: I’m not sure what they have in store for Green and Bu but…well, maybe The Visitors are taking them to medical as gracious tag champions?
THE Casey Gains: Yeah, you keep telling yourself that Edward. Those two guys are going to be aliens by the end of the night. It was nice knowing them.
Edward Findleton: Well, as one tag match ends, we’re heading into another one, this time for the Women’s Tag Team Championship!
The Strange Crew came out, as Smiling Sally and Jessie Parran were accompanied by Drizzles and Hawaii. Following them was the tag team champions The Stable, as Jenna Ingram and Hazel Glover walked out with Zoey Chambers, Hazel looking nervous and staring at Smiling Sally the whole time.
THE Casey Gains: Edward, is it just me, or is that doll a bit more….unsettling than normal?
Edward Findleton: Casey, that’s no way to speak about our wrestlers! Hawaii might have a family!
The match started out straightforward, with Jenna and Hazel getting some quick tags on Jessie and isolating her. The tide turned when Jessie was able to make a tag to Smiling Sally. Sally started laying into Hazel, but Jenna tried to pull Sally off of her. Sally and Jenna had a staredown, with Jenna showing no fear, and Ingram struck first on Sally. Sally however was not affected, and managed to deliver a haymaker to Jenna.
Edward Findleton: Sally is destroying the competition!
Smiling Sally threw Jenna out of the ring, who fell right into Zoey Chambers. She started focusing again on Hazel, who was the legal competitor. Hazel seemed unconscious at this point, as Sally tossed her around the ring and then propped Hazel into a corner. Sally delivered punch after punch, until Jessie seemed to try and stop her, telling her she’s done enough. Sally seemed to pay no attention, and kept attacking Hazel.
THE Casey Gains: Smiling Sally looks completely out of control…
Jessie tagged herself in, and pulled Sally off of Hazel. Jessie went for a pin on Hazel, but surprisingly, Sally yanked on Jessie’s leg, pulling her off of Hazel. Jessie Parran stood up, looking confused. She was seen trying to explain the situation to Sally.
Edward Findleton: If Sally just lets her pin them, we’ll have new champs!
Jessie went to cover Hazel again, but Sally pulled Jessie by the hair, then headbutted her. Drizzles and Hawaii rushed to the ring, but Sally punched them, knocking them down. Smiling Sally then delivered a Tornado Bomb to Jessie Parran.
THE Casey Gains: I have no idea what is happening. No idea at all. Something isn’t right with this doll.
Sally picked Jessie up again, and hit a second Tornado Bomb. She then grabbed Hazel, and hit her with a Tornado Bomb, onto Jessie Parran. Hazel’s unconscious body was on top of Jessies, and referee Brenda Moses reluctantly gave a three count, awarding the victory to The Stable. Despite the win, all wrestlers save for Sally were down and out, no one able to celebrate a victory. Sally simply stared ahead emotionless and left the ring, walking to the back in a trance.
Edward Findleton: Well Casey, I’ll say it. I’m scared of her.
THE Casey Gains: Yeah, I sorta am too. What we just saw, that’s not normal.
Edward Findleton: Thankfully all wrestlers are being helped to the back, but Casey, speaking of scary, Halloween is next week! And do you know what’s even scarier than mindless killing dolls?
THE Casey Gains: What?
Edward Findleton: Dead Men! Or…the dead man’s switch the Scarred Badger says he has attached to his wrist! And guess what? That’s our next match!
Mitchell Row came out first, but surprisingly no sign of Kitty Kayleen or Georgios Stanellis. Scarred Badger made his entrance next, smiling and pointing the watch on his wrist as he made his way down to the ring.
THE Casey Gain: You know, I think it’s just wrong that Scarred Badger is trying to ruin Mitchell’s life. He’s admitted to a crime and now he’s got some sort of…switch if he loses? That sounds like a sore loser to me, Edward.
As the match started, Mitchell Row seemed to be in control. He went for a few early pin falls, but Badger would kick out each time. Scarred Badger would sometimes get some offense going, but almost wait a moment for Row to recover, switching the momentum back to Row.
Edward Findleton: Casey, I think Badger is toying with Row…I think he wants to lose.
THE Casey Gains: Then he should leave the company! Making a mockery of wrestling and threatening a man’s home and family!
As the match continued, Badger started to taunt Row, and Mitchell started to get more and more angry. As Scarred Badger had Row in a headlock, he whispered something in Row’s ear, and Mitchell Row looked very upset. He fought out of the headlock, pushed Badger away, and hit a Spear. Row then picked Scarred Badger up, and delivered the Fireman’s Carry Slam. Scarred Badger looked almost out of it, so Row propped him up into the corner, went to the opposite side, then ran and delivered a final Spear. Badger slumped to the ground, and Mitchell Row pinned in 7:20 for the victory.
As Mitchell celebrated his victory, his theme song cut off, and the jumbotron was now showing footage of the inside of Mitchell Row’s home bedroom. Relaxing in his bed half under the covers was Georgios Stanellis, shirtless. After a few moments, Kitty Kayleen walked into frame and sat on the bed as well.
Kitty Kayleen: How are you feeling?
Georgios Stanellis: He got a couple good hits on me…but I still won. Just a bit sore.
Kitty Kayleen: Well I don’t think we’ll need to worry about Badger ever again. He’s history.
Georgios Stanellis: Yeah, he’ll fade away, just like this pain.
Kitty Kayleen: Maybe…I can help with that?
Kitty went to Stanellis, and started to massage his shoulders, however he moved her hands away.
Georgios Stanellis: Stop…please. My shoulders are fine…I just have a…lower body injury.
Kitty nodded, and went completely under the covers, which is where the footage cut off. Row was staring at the screen with his jaw on the floor, then turned to Scarred Badger. Badger was sitting up, still clutching his ribs and wheezing in pain, but also chuckling, pointing and laughing at Row between grimaces of pain. Mitchell immediately left the ring and went to the back.
THE Casey Gains: This is why you don’t negotiate with terrorists, Edward! A perfect marriage might be ruined!
Edward Findleton: Well after seeing that I feel like it encourages one to negotiate with terrorists, actually. Well while Mitchell Row is getting his life sorted out, we have a title picture to sort out! The HAW Women’s Championship match is next!
Sekino The Stunt Pilot walked out first, holding a sledgehammer. She took a few, fake threatening swings at crew members and fans on her way down, laughing as she did so. She went to the side of the ring in the front row, where a little girl was. Sekino pulled a marker out and autographed her name on the handle of the hammer, then asked the girl if she wanted it. When the little girl nodded, Sekino handed her the hammer, but also grabbed a nearby bottle of water, pouring it on the girl’s head. The Stunt Pilot laughed as she got into the ring, leaving the girl crying.
Edward Findleton: Ok, I think that was a little bit uncalled for!
THE Casey Gains: Come on, how many of our fans get water poured on their head by a wrestler? Why is that girl crying?! She should be honored! Her parents really need to teach her manners!
Penny “The Hammer” Downs came out next, with a towel and rushing to ringside. She went over to the girl and helped dry her hair down and made sure she was ok, before giving her a hug. Penny rolled into the ring and shook her head at Sekino in disgust. When Sekino started to laugh, Penny immediately rushed her, and the match was on.
Penny fought furiously at the start, fighting more so on emotion than strategy, and had the Stunt Pilot on the run. As Penny’s fury waned and exhaustion started to set in, Sekino knew she weathered the storm and was able to start counter attacks.
The Stunt Pilot and the Hammer traded blows, and it was a complete back and forth. Sekino had managed to climb to the top and deliver the Moonstomp, but Penny kicked out. Downs later hit her Single Underhook Facebuster, but couldn’t successfully complete the three count on Sekino.
Edward Findleton: This is close call after close call!
Both women were getting tired, but Sekin stunned Penny with an elbow, and a couple more blows sent her to the ground. Sekino looked over to the turnbuckle, and started to climb again.
THE Casey Gains: I’m not sure Penny can kick out of another Moonstomp…
As Sekino was getting positioned on the top rope, there was a murmur in the crowd, and standing in the front row on the barricade was Kherti Bhakta. Sekino saw her out of the corner of her eye, looking back and forth between Penny and Kherti. Sekino focused her attention towards Kherti, and Kherti quickly grabbed the hammer from the nearby little girl. As Sekino jumped off the top rope with a crossbody towards Kherti, Kherti jumped too, putting the hammer in front of her. The two women collided, and both looked hurt, but Sekino was clutching her ribs where the handle of the hammer drove into her.
The Stunt Pilot struggled into the ring, but right into the grasps of Penny, who quickly connected with a Single Underhook Facebuster. Penny quickly covered Sekino and this time managed to pick up the three count.
A completely spent Penny smiled, proud of her victory. Kherti grabbed the HAW Women’s championship, came into the ring, and handed it to Penny. Kherti then raised Penny’s hand up in the air, and Penny gave Kherti a big hug.
Edward Findleton: A great match from two great wrestlers! Let’s take a look at the highlights here, and what I think was the turning point! Here is when Kherti Bhakta got involved-
THE Casey Gains: Whoa, Edward hold up!
The highlights were also playing on the jumbotron, and Penny was watching. As she saw Kherti get involved in the match, the smile on Penny’s face disappeared. She looked over at Kherti in disbelief, pointing at the jumbotron. Kherti looked like she started trying to explain herself, but an upset Penny shoved Kherti onto the ground. Frustrated, Penny grabbed the title and stormed up the ramp to the back.
Edward FIndleton: …Well I apologize for ruining that moment. It was sorta storybook for a couple of seconds. Oh well, we have another match coming up, Pastor James vs Cole Arcane in a Texas Death Match!
THE Casey Gains: That’s right, the rule is simple, it’s not just a pinfall to win, your opponent needs to stay down for an additional 10 seconds. Arcane wants to hurt James, James wants to hurt Arcane. Guess what? This is the match for them!
Cole Arcane made his way out, already wielding a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire. He checked under the ring for any possible ambushes, and climbed the top rope, looking off into the crowd, scanning his surroundings. Feeling satisfied, he went to the middle of the ring to await his opponent. Pastor James came out next, accompanied only by Dixie Boyle and Ivy Clarke.
Edward Findleton: No sign of Jonah Webb or Peter “Carnage” Horn!
THE Casey Gains: Arcane is definitely aware of that!
As the match began, James seemed to tell Arcane to put down the 2x4. Instead, Arcane charged with the 2x4 and swung. James was able to dodge, and attack an off balance Arcane. Cole dropped the weapon, and Ivy Clarke quickly grabbed it and threw it out of the ring. Pastor James had an upper hand, and began to treat the match like a wrestling match.
THE Casey Gains: This is favoring James. Arcane’s gameplan was a hardcore match with weapons, and if he can’t access them, James is going to have a good night.
Despite the reliance on wrestling, Cole Arcane would gain ground, and the two had a back and forth. Arcane seemed to get his big break when he surprised James with a Running Bulldog. However when he went for the pin, Dixie stopped referee Tom Hunter, and Ivy pulled Cole off James. Frustrated, Cole Arcane started to yell at Dixie and Ivy to leave the ring, but they refused. Cole walked outside the ring and looked under the apron, and grabbed a steel trash can, once again warning Dixie and Ivy to leave. From behind, a weak and crawling James quickly hit a low blow to Cole Arcane, sending him to the ground. Dixie and Ivy started stomping on Arcane, and at that point Jonah Webb and Peter Horn came running down the aisle.
Edward Findleton: And things just got much worse for Cole Arcane…
James was still hurting, but recovered enough to join in on Dixie and Ivy stomping. The girls managed to get Cole to his feet for Pastor James, who delivered a Cobra Clutch Slam. Jonah Webb and Horn clapped, and Jonah went over to an exhausted James and gave a hug.
THE Casey Gains: These guys are proud of themselves but honestly, there’s not much to celebrate here.
Jonah continued hugging Pastor James then grabbed his hand to lift it up in the air in victory. With his hand raised, Webb put a pair of handcuffs on James’ wrist, then attached the other end to the ropes, while James’ looked bewildered. Horn then grabbed both Ivy Clarke and Dixie Boyle, while Jonah Webb grabbed a microphone.
Jonah Webb: Pastor James…we had a deal. The deal was, you soften up Arcane…so Horn can beat him. Last week, you broke the deal when, without even consulting us, challenged him to a match tonight. So James…people who break deals…they need suffer. So Peter and I have an idea. Let’s embarrass you. I don’t really know what your relationship is with Ivy Clarke but Dixie Boyle…why won’t you admit she’s your daughter? I mean, I guess if she isn’t, we can just beat her down right now, she’s nothing to you.
Pastor James: Wait! No!
Jonah Webb: Say it louder, make sure the microphone picks that up.
Pastor James: Don’t hurt them!
Jonah Webb: Why shouldn’t we? Why are you so concerned about them?
Pastor James: Ivy is a good friend and…and………..Dixie is my daughter. I got the paternity test a long time ago. She is! I just…didn’t want to admit it! Don’t hurt her! Please!
Jonah Webb: Amazing. That wasn’t so hard, was it? I think everyone will have a better relationship now! Congratulations James, you did it! You kept your end of the deal up! ……..But……I said people who break deals need to suffer. A true lesson to learn, is the consequences of a broken deal.
Horn pushed Ivy Clarke to Jonah Webb, who hit her with Arm Trap Neckbreaker. Horn then grabbed Dixie and lifted her in the air. He maintained eye contact with James, waited a few moments, and hit the Side Sitout Powerslam. With Ivy and Dixie completely knocked out, James looked broken. Webb gave a nod to Horn, and the two started punching James. After enough of a beat down, Webb unclasped the handcuff, and hit an Arm Trap Neckbreaker to Pastor James. Horn then took a limp Pastor James, picked him up and put the steel trashcan over his upper torso, before hitting the Side Sitout Powerslam, denting the trashcan in the form of Pastor James’ body.
Edward Findleton: What…is happening?
Horn and Webb placed Cole Arcane onto James, and referee Tom Hunter reluctantly counted to three. Horn and Webb then picked up Arcane and propped him against the ropes, and left the ring, taking a leisurely slow back up. Right before they made it through the back curtain, they turned, and Tom Hunter counted to 10, and awarded the victory to Cole Arcane.
Edward Findleton: Cole Arcane…wins this Texas Deathmatch but Casey…I think the only two winners here are Jonah Webb and Peter “Carnage” Horn.
THE Casey Gains: Jonah Webb has a sick, sadistic, twisted mind…it honestly makes me feel uneasy that he’s aligned with a powerhouse like Peter Horn.
Edward Findleton: While we have medical help out all four of those left in the ring, we do have some announcements to be made. Next month is our season finale, the biggest show of the year, HAW’s End of the Trail. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing our champions on that show, like Harvey Allison, The Stable, The Visitors, and Penny Downs, but we know for certain one person who will be on that show is Douglas Brunswick, the number one contender for the HAW World Championship! The question is, will he be facing the reigning champ, Franco Mancini, or his challenger, King Donovan?
With the main event set, King Donovan made his entrance, determined and ready for this match. Franco Mancini the champion came next, and averted the gaze of King Donovan.
Edward Findleton: Casey is it just me or…is Franco nervous?
THE Casey Gains: I’d be surprised if a veteran of this caliber is nervous, but hey, everything else is crazy tonight, so maybe.
As Franco entered the ring, Donovan approached, and the two immediately began brawling out. Throughout the match, Franco’s confidence looked shaken and seemed off his game. But as Franco started to counter more and more of Donovan’s attacks, his swagger seemed to go up to classic Mancini levels.
The outlooks of both competitors seemed to be reversed, and Franco hit Donovan with a Pickpocket, the Reverse STO. He waited for Donovan to get up, then whacked Donovan with a Throat Thrust. Franco covered King Donovan, and successfully pinned him in 12:08. As Franco grabbed his title and held it in the air, Douglas Brunswick walked to the top of the stage. Franco briefly saw Brunswick, stared him down, but went back to his celebration.
Edward Findleton: A huge title defense for Franco Mancini, but as we see, the next competitor is already waiting in the shadows. We’ve got one month to their match at End of the Trail, but we’ll have to see where that journey takes us. Thank you for tuning in, good night!
