Dark Matches: The United States defeated Jenson West, The O’Toole Brothers (Sean and Fergus O’Toole) defeated The Jockey and the Thoroughbred (Diego Salazar and Enrique Mendoza)
The HAW intro played, and as the show started, the HAW World Champion Franco Mancini stood in the center of the ring, a bright smile on his face.
Franco Mancini: Welcome back to HAW! Welcome to St. Louis, what a show tonight, there’s Edward Findleton and “the” Casey Gains on commentary, Gregory Greystone is probably in the back somewhere running around with a microphone, the crowd is going crazy, the energy is through the roof, and everyone is excited! …….Except for me.
Franco’s smile left and he turned serious.
Franco Mancini: Ya see, last time you all saw me, I did the unthinkable and defeated Peter “Carnage” Horn in seconds. And while I get that the guy is just a glass cannon, some people online were calling this an “upset.” An upset. An upset?! Are you all for real?! I’m a five time world champion! I’ve held this title more than anyone else! I’ve dominated the world title scene, the tag scene, the NRWL, and I pulled off an upset?! Well if you don’t believe in Franco Mancini, you better start to. I’m not letting this title go, I’m going to be the first person to successfully defend this title for a full HAW season and complete the grand slam. One Way Trip, Downtown Disaster, Summit of Success, and I'll finish the year as champion at End of the Trail!
The intro to King Donovan’s music started, as the crowd cheered, making his way out and down to the ring.
Edward Findleton: I’d like to welcome everyone back to HAW myself, none of us could get a word in with Franco, but he’s failed to mention one thing in his monologue, and that’s his opponent at Summit of Success is the man entering the ring, King Donovan.
THE Casey Gains: …I can’t believe he mispronounced my name.
King Donovan: Franco, you sound like a man who thinks nobody respects him. Well I’m going to be honest, I do. You do have a long list of accomplishments. Often when you hear someone is a five time champion, it means they’re a four time loser. But not you, you’ve never lost a fair one on one match defending that. Sketchy refereeing, multiman matches, and even forced to vacate when you went to NRWL. Mancini, you might be one of the best wrestlers in history. And that’s why I can’t wait to be the first one to take you down clean. As a prize fighter, there’s no better combination of defeating you AND becoming world champ. If I do that, I’m set for life. So the question is…how? Quite frankly, with your accolades, I think I need to rattle you.
At that point, Donovan hit Franco Mancini over the head with the microphone. Donovan then hit the Full Nelson Slam on Mancini, before grabbing his fallen title and holding it up for the crowd.
Edward Findleton: And King Donovan making a statement! What a way to start this second half of the season off! In addition to this, we got some great matches including our main event, a woman’s tag match for the number one contender to the women’s tag title, it’s Witchmere and Bethany Watts facing off against The Strange Crew, Jessie Parran and Smiling Sally! And don’t expect any breaks, we’re going backstage to the owner of HAW, Freezerman!
Freezerman was in his office backstage, and sitting in front of his desk was Lovable Liam, Frederic St. Pierre, and Douglas Brunswick.
Freezerman: Gentlemen, I’ve called you in here today for some good news, which I know especially Liam and Frederic definitely need to hear, after the news of Crash’s injury and being out this fall. But while he got hurt in that match against the Visitors, I was impressed with that whole team. So I want to reward you…one of you, with an opportunity of a lifetime. One of you is going to main event End of the Trail, and challenge for the HAW World Championship. I’ll make my decision at Summit of Success, so you three have a couple of weeks to present your case, to win me over, to show me why you deserve that spot. I’m excited to see where you go with this. Gentlemen, good luck, you are dismissed.
The three shook Freezerman’s hand and each departed.
Back at ringside, Sentinel made his entrance, and was followed by Mitchell Row, who was strangely not accompanied by Georgios Stanellis and Kitty Kayleen. Sentinel gave a valiant effort, but Mitchell Row ultimately came out on top after hitting a Spear and pinning Sentinel in 6:30. After the match, Gregory Greystone came into the ring with a microphone to catch up withMitchell Row.
Gregory Greystone: Hello ladies and gentlemen! Mitchell Row, a quick interview. What a match you just put on! However, where is your wife, Kitty Kayleen?
Mitchell Row: Gregory, don’t worry. Kitty is safe. Her and Georgios had some prior commitments and couldn’t be here tonight, but I dedicate this match to both of them! Thank you! Now Gregory, I’m going to shower and change, you get that limo started!
Row walked away, as Gregory looked confused at how to respond to Row’s demands.
In a locker room backstage, Mayor Briggs was with his City Council, The United States and Bigg Pimpin’ Alex, as The United States shined the National title for Briggs. There was a knock on a door, and entering the room was Strawberry Bates Hill.
Strawberry Bates Hill: Mr. Briggs, I’ve come to you today with a proposal. You’re a great National champion, and you deserve to face the best competition. That’s why I want you to choose me as your opponent at Summit of Success. You and I, we can steal the show and go down in history with one of the greatest matches of all time, I believe it. You don’t need to decide now, I’ve got a match next. I want you to watch it, and think about it. Thank you for your time.
Hill reached out and shook the hand of Briggs, and walked out of the lockerroom. Briggs looked at Alex and The United States in shock.
Mayor Briggs: Ya saw that, right? That bloke thinks…I care about his matches?
Briggs burst out laughing, as did The United States and Alex. Meanwhile at ringside, Strawberry Bates Hill music played, and he walked down to the ring, very focused and taking deep breaths. His opponent followed, which was Demon Lord Lenin May.
The match was back and forth, with each competitor getting some close to victory. In the end, Hill managed to achieve victory with a Leg Trap Half Crab that forced May to tap. Hill seemed relieved at his victory.
Edward Findleton: Strawberry Bates Hill wins! Maybe this will prove him a worthy challenger for Mayor Briggs?
THE Casey Gains: Knowing Mayor Briggs, I feel like he’s LESS inclined to choose Hill. He really needs to learn to read the room better.
In the back, Rj Bu and Niko Green, the tag champs, were looking into the camera.
Niko Green: Last spring was one of the most successful few months for us.
RJ Bu: I NEVER…had that many chicks lining up!
Niko Green: …We had two successful title defenses.
RJ Bu: I bought a new car! One of them electric ones, and I don’t even drive it because it ran out of gas and I can’t start it!
Niko Green: And even though my partner is material focused, I think our in ring chemistry speaks for itself. So-
Green was cut off, as The Visitors attacked Green and Bu from behind. Cyberhemoth and Glenny beat down Green, while The Venator and Kenneth Cobb kicked and stomped away at Bu.
Glenny Pax: Tag Champions…let this be a warning to you…your reign as champions, and your lives as you know them…will both soon be extinguished…permanently!
The foursome kicked the champions a few more times before departing, leaving Bu and Green gasping for breath.
In the arena, the music of the Women’s Champion, Penny “The Hammer” Downs started up, and an annoyed Penny came down to ringside.
Penny Downs: At Downtown Disaster, I did what many young women dreamed of. I became HAW Women’s Champion….but it didn’t happen how I wanted it to go down. I didn’t earn this. These past few months, everyone has been congratulating me, but I didn’t earn it! I shouldn’t be HAW Women’s Champion! I didn’t beat Kherti by myself. That’s something I feel I need to do. I want to defeat Kherti Bhakta, one on one. I want my first title defense to be against her, to prove to myself that I have what it takes to be champion!
Instead of Kherti, the music of Sekino the Stunt Pilot hit.
Edward Findleton: That’s not Kherti Bhakta, that’s the woman that knocked Kherti out at Downtown Disaster!
The Stunt Pilot stood at the top of the ramp, grinning.
Sekino: You want Kherti? Toooooo bad! You don’t always get what you want. You…get me! Since you don’t want your title, I can’t wait to take it from you.
Sekino waved goodbye and walked to the back, while Penny stayed in the ring, even more annoyed than prior.
Pastor James was pacing back and forth with his head down backstage, talking to Dixie Boyle and Ivy Clarke.
Pastor James: We need a plan. A plan! Last spring, no one cared about us. We were just left off the show! Well no more, we will make sure we are heard!
As James continued pacing back and forth, he bumped into a person. James looked up to find Cole Arcane. A very brief staredown occurred, and James went for a punch, but Arcane blocked it. Arcane threw James into a nearby wall before getting ontop of him and punching him. The onslaught continued until four arms pulled him off. Arcane turned to see who grabbed him, and saw Jonah Webb and Peter “Carnage” Horn. Without warning, Horn hit a clothesline onto Arcane, and now Webb and Horn started laying into Arcane. Satisfied with their attack, Webb looked at a recovering Pastor James, and gave a nod of acknowledgement. James could only nod back, as Horn and Webb walked away.
THE Casey Gains: It’s really dangerous backstage tonight, Edward.
Edward Findleton: Not as dangerous as it is in the ring though, as it’s time for our main event!
The Strange Crew, Jessie Parran and Smiling Sally, accompanied by Drizzles the Clown and Hawaii, came down first with new theme music, while Bethany Watts and Witchmere followed. The Stable, with the current tag champions of Jenna Ingam and Hazel Glover with Zoey Chambers, then came out to take seats at ring side to watch the match.
The match started, and outside, Jenna stared intently, Hazel took notes in a notebook, and Zoey was signing autographs for the fans and taking selfies with them. Bethany and Witchmere seemed to come off as the better wrestlers, but The Strange Crew was working as a smoother team, with momentum shifting back and forth. With Smiling Sally and Witchmere the legal women, Witchmere tried to lock in the Headvise, but Sally powered out and hit a Tornado Bomb. The Strange Crew picked up the win in 10:23.
Edward Findleton: And there we go, we have another match set for Summit of Success, The Strange Crew vs The Stable!
THE Casey Gains: A great effort by Witchmere and Watts, but these two still need some more time teaming together. It should be a very even match!
Edward Findleton: Well folks, we thank you for joining us. Welcome back and we hope to see you for the rest of the year! Good night!
