The HAW Theme played to start the show.
Edward Findleton: Welcome to HAW Downtown Disaster, live in Tampa Bay, Florida! As always I’m Edward Findleton with THE Casey Gains and Eve Solace!
Eve Solace: Downtown Disaster is a fitting name because this area could look like a disaster zone by night’s end. For the women, Sabrina Nova will take on Sekino the Stunt Pilot, The Dystopians will defend the Tag titles against No Nonsense Bethany Watts and The White Tiger Kherti Bhakta. Then, The National Champion will face her toughest challenger with Elena Dubois defending against Sophie Lester. Finally, a main event death match! Sally Larkin, Cate Stiles, I can’t imagine how this will go.
THE Casey Gains: Eve is not selling this short, that women’s division is going to be brutal, but there’s a lot going on in the men’s division. A triple threat with Mayor Briggs, Franco Mancini and Doughlas Brunswick as well as The Visitors vs The Samurais of Power in two non title matches. Then, the Biofuel Engineers will square off against The Strange Crew, Leon Baron will take on Georgios Stanellis, and Cole Arcane makes his first title defense against Mitchell Row!
Edward Findleton: A lot of great action, and we’re starting off with that men’s triple threat!
All competitors made their way to the ring, first Douglas Brunswick, then Franco Mancini, and finally Mayor Briggs with his City Council, The United States and Bigg Pimpin’ Alex.
The match started off fast, with each wrestler getting some strong offense in, but as Franco started to dominate and knocked Brunswick out of the ring, Briggs rolled out and talked to him. He offered his hand out for a shake, and Brunswick reluctantly shook it.
Edward Findleton: Former friends and former rivals, they look to be making a new alliance here!
Briggs and Brunswick proceeded to double team Mancini and take control, really wearing him down. Mancini could barely stand, and Brunswick hit his Lifting Reverse DDT. Before he could cover, Briggs grabbed Brunswick by the shoulders and tossed him out of the ring. Briggs went for the cover, but Brunswick was able to recover and yank Briggs off by his foot, breaking it up at the last moment.
Briggs tried to apologize, but Brunswick answered by punching him in the jaw. Brunswick was on fire, absolutely beating the hell out of Briggs, until Mancini recovered and attacked Brunswick. While Douglas and Franco battled, Briggs managed to climb to the top rope and jumped and hit a double clothesline. However, as he came down, his leg gave out, and he fell to the ground clutching his knee.
Eve Solace: I think the question now is, did he really injure that knee or is this a scheme?
THE Casey Gains: Well here comes Alex and the United States to check on him, they both seemed concerned. I think this is the real deal.
Briggs put his arms around his allies, and with their help, hobbled to the back, leaving just Franco and Douglas in the ring, slowly recovering. Slowly the two men got to their feet, and started slugging it out. The match continued from here, with momentum shifts and nearfalls for both men, but Brunswick started to take over and had Mancini woozy. He started to size him up for another Lifting Reverse DDT, when Mayor Briggs came running down the ramp.
THE Casey Gains: Like I said, a scheme!
Briggs rushed into the ring and tried to attack Brunswick from behind, but Brunswick countered and hit the Lifting Reverse DDT onto Briggs. Just as Brunswick got back to his feet, Mancini grabbed him and hit him with the Pickpocket. Exhausted, Franco covered Brunswick, and picked up the win in 16:49.
Edward Findleton: What a match! This is really going to help Franco out a lot!
An exhausted Franco raised his arms in the air, celebrating on the ropes, when his attention was turned towards the ramp. The Shadow Hand had made an appearance and was calmly walking down. Jonah Webb, Jet Black, and Demon Lord Lenin May surrounded three corners of the ring as Peter Horn climbed the ropes. Still catching his breath, Mancini seemed to accept what was about to happen, and punched Horn. Horn quickly recovered, and overpowered Mancini and hit the Side Sitout Powerslam. Briggs had managed to struggle to his feet, and walked right into Horn’s arm and another Side Sitout Powerslam. Brunswick was still down, but Horn deadlifted him, and for the third time hit his finisher.
The rest of the Shadow Hand joined in the ring and raised their arms up, proud of their actions.
Edward Findleton: Well Franco had a solid win, but that’s a solid statement from Peter “Carnage” Horn.
THE Casey Gains: Yeah, I’m not sure exactly what this means, but attacking these three men certainly shows he’s not afraid to make enemies.
Edward Findleton: Speaking of enemies, our next match will feature enemies of planet Earth!
The Samurais of Power came out first, as Sensei Onaga, Trickshot, and Ozzie Reagan came out looking ready for a battle. The lights then dimmed and The Visitors followed, first Glenny Pax, then Cyberhemoth, and finally Kyle Higgins, who seemed to be dressed in some astronaut styled suit, his face covered.
Edward Findleton: A lot is on the line in this match, its become a permanent alien if the Samurais lose, or the alien’s leave earth forever!
The match began with the two leaders, Glenny Pax and Sensei Onaga doing some quick grappling, but Pax eventually tagged in Higgins. As Kyle Higgins wrestled, he looked faster and stronger than he had ever been, as the Samurais were tagging out frequently. Staying fresh, Higgins tagged in Cyberhemoth to take on the legal man Trickshot.
Trickshot tried some karate moves on Cyberhemoth but they didn’t seem to have much effect and Cyberhemoth was able to powerslam Trickshot and start to dominate. Cyberhemoth was in complete control until Trickshot made a desperation tag to Ozzie, who ran in and immediately attacked Cyberhemoth. The surprise offense slowed Cyberhemoth down as he fell to a knee, and Ozzie was hitting vicious kicks to the head of Cyberhemoth. Ozzie went for a spin kick but Cyberhemoth caught the foot, then quickly got up and hit a chokeslam. Cyberhemoth and Ozzie were both down and started making their way to the corner for a tag.
Ozzie got Onaga, and Cyberhemoth was reaching for Higgins, when Pax reached out and touched his hand. Going into the ring as the legal man, Glenny Pax then motioned to the back, and multiple Visitor minions started running down to the ring.
THE Casey Gains: This is risking a DQ, do these stipulations still count if that happens?!
Referee Tom Hunter watched, but as the Visitors entered the ring, they never got offense in, Onaga was able to kick them, as was a recovering Trickshot. Ozzie had also rolled out of the ring and managed to take a few out. Despite this, the Visitors kept pouring out from the back.
Eve Solace: This looks like the entire alien army has arrived!
The Visitors rushed into the ring and grabbed all three Samurai, holding their arms. Referee Tom Hunter went to go call for a DQ, but before he could, a spotlight shined down at the ring, freezing Hunter in place. With all the time, Glenny left the ring and pulled out from underneath the apron, a futuristic hand gun.
THE Casey Gains: Why does the ring crew have that?!
Glenny calmly got into the ring and aimed the gun at Sensei Onaga. Onaga stared him down, and with a final burst of energy, pulled both of the Visitors holding his arms in front of him, acting as a shield. This coincided with Glenny firing the gun, which seemed to just shoot out a typical laser. However, when the laser hit the first Visitor, the Visitor seemed to be repelled back, getting knocked backwards and falling outside the ring.
Glenny fired again, this time hitting the next Visitor to the same effect. Trickshot and Ozzie then fought back, and each time Glenny Pax fired his laser gun, it would hit one of his Visitors, until it was just the Samurais in the ring. The three Samurais were ready to attack Glenny, who now looked worried, but still had the gun. He aimed it again, just as Kyle Higgins had run in the ring to attack the Samurais, and Higgins inadvertently got hit. Higgins fell to the mat, and was not moving at all. The Samurais quickly went down to check on him, but as they tried to rouse him, he had no response.
Pax laughed, and now pointed the laser gun at the three kneeling Samurais. With no other interference, he fired and the laser hit Sensei Onaga right in the chest.
This had no effect.
Onaga looked down at the laser on his chest, then back at Glenny confused. Glenny looked at his gun confused, then at the Samurais in horror.
Eve Solace: I don’t think that laser gun only works on aliens!
The Samurais stood up and started to surround Pax, who was pleading as he walked backwards in circles around the ring. Then from behind him, Kyle Higgins started to move. Higgins stood up, and removed the helmet that he had been attached to just as Pax turned around. Kyle Higgins hit Glenny Pax with an Inverted Front Powerslam, and that shot off the spotlight that had frozen Tom Hunter.
Onaga quickly went for the cover and got the three count in 9:18.
The Samurais celebrating, hugging Kyle Higgins that he was back to normal. Cyberhemoth tried to help Glenny Pax out of the ring and up the ramp, but Onaga then picked up the laser gun. He handed it to Higgins and nodded. Higgins fired the laser gun up the ramp at Cyberhemoth and Glenny Pax, who both seemed to go flying backwards. For a few moments they didn’t move, then started to stir and shake their heads. Cyberhemoth and Pax looked at each other, and around the arena in confusion, then back at the ring. The two then retreated, running to the back.
Edward Findleton: And there we have it! The Visitors have been defeated one and for all! What a happy ending for all involved!
THE Casey Gains: Yes! Kyle Higgins retires, losing his final match! That sure is a feel good moment Edward.
Edward Findleton: Come on Casey! Let him have this moment!
THE Casey Gains: You’re right Edward. Congrats to those guys for doing me the favor of never having to hear about aliens or anything outer space related in HAW ever again!
Eve Solace: Speaking of space, our next match features space fan Sabrina Nova going against Sekino The Stunt Pilot!
THE Casey Gains: Stop using everything I say as a segue!
Sekino entered first, talking smack on her way down to the crowd, but was blindsided by a surprise attack from behind by Sabrina Nova. Nova continued attacking her on the ramp before rolling her into the ring to start the match officially.
Eve Solace: Nova has wanted to stop Sekino from taunting her and to prove herself, and this start shows she means business!
Sabrina was on an all out tear for the beginning of the match, getting some near falls and almost pinning the Stunt Pilot. Sekino however managed to slow everything down with an elbow strike to the jaw of Nova, absolutely stunning her. Sekino was able to recover, and slowly and methodically take control. Sekino started to get cocky when Sabrina Nova tried a roll up out of nowhere, but Sekino kicked out at the last moment. The Stunt Pilot was angry and started a new wave of attacks before finally hitting a vicious brainbuster.
With Nova down, Sekino climbed to the top rope, jumping and hitting her Moonstomp. Sekino smiled and covered, but was shocked when Nova kicked out.
Edward Findleton: Has anyone kicked out of the Moonstomp before?!
Sekino couldn’t believe it and argued with referee Heidi O’Neill, but she insisted it was a two count. Sekino started to climb the rope again, but Nova got up and grabbed her, hitting a superplex from the ropes. A wobbly Sekino instantly got to her feet, and Sabrina ran to the ropes, jumped off them, and hit her Springboard Knee Strike to Sekino.
It seemed that took everything out of both women, as the adrenaline faded from Sabrina. She willed herself to her feet, and hobbled over to Sekino. This time though, Sekino grabbed Nova’s legs and rolled her up. Sekino had one had on the tights during the pin, and the other on the face of Sabrina, looking like her fingers were gouging into Nova’s eyes. Heidi O’Neill got down for the count, and Sekino was able to hold the pin in place, securing the victory in 8:43.
Sekino immediately let go and rolled out the ring before she could have her arms raised. The Stunt Pilot looked fearful, she had won the match but not how she anticipated it.
Edward Findleton: A valiant effort by Nova but…I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sekino cheat like that.
THE Casey Gains: She typically enjoys brutalizing her opponents but hey, a win is a win.
Eve Solace: That was a tough match, and honestly, I’m not sure if either woman will be happy after how that went down. Both wanted to get a dominant win.
The Casey Gains: Yep. And uhh, not going to say anything else. I don’t want you two using another comment of mine as a segue. I’ll kill someone if you do!
Edward Findleton: Which brings us to our next match, a No Murders Allowed match for the Tag Team Championship!
The Strange Crew, Hawaii and Drizzles the Clown came out first, followed by the champions, The Biofuel Engineers, Dalton Elkins and Sydney Mason.
Edward Findleton: This is HAW’s first ever no murder’s allowed match. Eve, what can you tell us about this match?
Eve Solace: Quite simply, if you murder one of your opponents, the match will end in a disqualification.
THE Casey Gains: How is this even a match stipulation? Hasn’t every HAW match been no murders allowed?!
Edward Findleton: Probably not!
In the ring, referee Dennis Thompson went over to the Biofuel Engineers pre match and patted them down ensuring no weapons. He then went over to the Drizzles, and began the pat down and stopped, immediately pulling a knife out of Drizzles’ boot. Drizzles looked shocked that was there as Thompson carefully placed it to the side. He got to Drizzle’s pant pocket, and reaching in, pulled out a grenade. Thompson looked concerned and very carefully put the grenade down. Thompson then got to Drizzles mouth head and was about to stop, when he turned to Drizzles and instructed him to open his mouth. Drizzles opened his mouth to reveal a small glass sphere with a spider inside.
Edward Findleton: Is that a black widow?!
THE Casey Gains: Dennis Thompson really needs additional hazard pay after all of this.
With the weapons confiscated, the match began between the two rival teams. The Biofuel Engineers focused solely on tag team wrestling, and were doing a great job of it making sure Drizzles was isolated. With Dalton the legal man from a fresh Sydney tag, he continued to work over Drizzles and Hawaii looked nervous. Hawaii then put both of his hands on the ring rope and started convulsing, shaking, and screaming. Dennis Thompson went to check on Hawaii, and Hawaii finally let go and could be heard claiming the Biofuel Engineers electrified the ring rope and tried to murder him.
Eve Solace: According to the rules of this match, an attempted murder will result in a disqualification, and a title CAN change hands that way!
Hawaii got into the ring and, positioning himself behind Dennis Thompson and showing him the ring ropes, the ref now inspecting them. Dalton Elkins started to approach, when Hawaii reached under his bandana and pulled out a taser, shocking Elkins and sending him to the ground. Hawaii quickly tossed the evidence and went to go back to the apron, but Sydney Mason had seen enough. He started to chase Hawaii, and Hawaii ran around the ring, then started going up the ramp, doing a little jump right at top. He turned just as Mason was getting close when Hawaii put his hands up to Mason to stop.
Sydney Mason stopped in his tracks, and Hawaii pointed down, and Mason appeared to be standing on a mine. Mason looked absolutely fearful, and Hawaii smiled and shrugged as he slowly made his way back to the ring, Mason afraid to take his foot off the mine.
In the ring, Drizzles had recovered just as Dalton did, but Drizzles quickly hit a Shining Wizard right to Dalton’s head. Drizzles made a quick tag to Hawaii, and as a woozy Dalton got to his knee, Hawaii hit a Leg Drop Bulldog. He covered Elkins and picked up the win in 8:14.
Edward Findleton: And we have new tag team champions, and no murders were committed! Amazing!
Eve Solace: That’s the 4th title reign for the Strange Crew, and that breaks the three-three tie with Biofuel!
As the Strange Crew celebrated with the titles, they walked up the ramp where Sydney Mason was still standing there, pleading for help. Hawaii put an arm around Sydney and began to laugh.
Hawaii: It’s a fake!
With that, Drizzles blasted Mason in the head with the belt, knocking him to the ground and off the “mine.” A joyful Hawaii picked it up and tossed it backstage behind the curtain, chuckling the whole time. A few seconds later, the sound of a loud explosion went off, and smoke started to pour out from backstage. Drizzles and Hawaii both looked shocked, and then began to argue how they misplaced the real mine, and they could have been DQ’d.
Edward Findleton: What a match that was, but we got another coming up. Casey, what do you think of when you hear the word “tiger?”
THE Casey Gains: I’m not participating in your stupid segues, they’re not funny.
Edward Findleton: That’s exactly right, No Nonsense! It’s The White Tiger Kherti Bhakta and No Nonsense Bethany Watts challenging the Dystopians for the Tag Titles, next!
The challengers made their entrance first, as Bhakta and Watts came out together. The Dystopians followed next, appearing all ready for business.
Eve Solace: This is Void-N’s hometown but the reception here is icy. Which is to be expected after what the Dystopians said about their homes last week.
THE Casey Gains: I’ll say this though, I don’t think it bothers them a single bit, and it shouldn’t. They need to be focused on two tough opponents and not fan opinions.
The initial match started favoring Kherti Bhakta over Void-N, as the more experienced wrestler was outperforming her opponent. However, Void-N was able to make a tag to Dark Raven, and the Dystopians quickly developed a tag rhythm to keep each partner fresh. Bhakta would withstand some punishment and make a desperate tag to Watts, but Bethany would also get worn down soon enough by the freshness of Dystopians.
The Dystopians started to focus on picking up the win, and began some pinfall attempts which only resulted in two counts. The legal Dark Raven gave a nod to Void-N, and Void-N hopped down from her apron and started approaching the opposing corner, where Kherti stood waiting for her tag.
Eve Solace: It looks like they’re doing their pack attack!
Kherti turned to focus on Void-N, and in doing so, Dark Raven rushed her from in the ring. Kherti was ready for this however and grabbed Dark Raven, launching her out of the ring and right into the approaching Void-N, knocking both women to the ground.
Edward Findleton: That’s a long hard fall for both of these women!
Kherti didn’t hesitate and jumped down, attacking both champions while Bethany started to recover to the ring. Kherti tossed the legal Dark Raven into the ring while she continued to work on Void-N, and Dark Raven got up and walked right into Bethany Watt’s arms, who hit a Backbreaker. Watts covered for the pin and finished with the three count, securing new tag team champions.
Eve Solace: It’s done! We have new champions! Bethany Watts and Kherti Bhakta!
Watts and Bhakta were given the titles and held them high in triumph, as the hurt and disappointed Dystopians stumbled to the back.
Edward Findleton: Another great tag match, but we have more matches to get to. Casey, want to tell us about the next one?
THE Casey Gains: No.
Edward Findleton: Exactly, N-O, the last two letters reversed in the name “Leon!” It’s Leon Baron defending the National Championship against Georgios Stanellis!
Georgios Stanellis walked down first with Kitty Kayleen as per usual, while Leon Baron walked at a brisk pace to the ring, an angry and determined look in his eyes.
Edward Findleton: Well last week it went bad for Georgios at his home when he invited Leon Baron over.
THE Casey Gains: It’s honestly pretty disrespectful of Baron to destroy his car like that. It made me sick.
The match started with Georgios trying to avoid the power attacks of Baron. Stanellis knew what his strength and weakness was here, and adapted to a more technical game plan that was working, locking in holds and slowly wearing Baron down.
Leon would gain some momentum and some reversals, but Stanellis constantly slowed the pace of the match down, and was greatly favorite the legs of Leon.
THE Casey Gains: If Stanellis could lock in that Boston Crab, he could definitely make Leon Baron tap out and be the new National Champion.
Despite the holds, Baron started to slowly fight back with some body shots, and then an elbow to the jaw that stunned Stanellis. This was the opening Baron needed, and hit a fast powerslam on Stanellis, getting up and roaring for the crowd, pumping the arena up.
THE Casey Gains: Why are they cheering for him? Why wouldn’t they cheer for this great couple like Georgios and Kitty!?
Eve Solace: If you’re so supportive of them, then do something!
THE Casey Gains: Ok, I will!
Edward Findleton: Casey, wait! Uh oh.
Baron looked like he was getting ready to line Stanellis up for a move, when Casey Gains slid into the ring. Referee Dillon Bartos immediately tried to get Casey out of the ring, and Leon approached as well. Casey shared some words with Leon and Dillon, while Kitty slid her purse into the ring to Georgios. Georgios picked it up, and ran towards the group swinging it, but missed Baron and connected right into the face of Casey. Stanellis dropped the purse in shock as a brick fell out of it, while Casey stumbled out of the ring holding his nose. Georgios turned around and walked right into the grasp of Leon Baron who quickly hit a Canadian Destroyer, and pinned Georgios Stanellis in 8:27.
Edward Findleton: And Leon Baron retains! What a mat- Casey are you ok?
THE Casey Gains: Oww…oww…
Eve Solace: I don’t have the best ideas, just so you know.
THE Casey Gains: Thanks for telling me that now. Can someone get me an ice pack for my nose?
Edward Findleton: Of course, but first, let’s transition-
THE Casey Gains: I don’t care about the transitions! Next match is Elena Dubois and Sophie Lester for the national championship! Get me an ice pack!
Sophie Lester emerged from the curtains with a furious pace, ready to fight. The champion Elena Dubois followed next, and had a noticeable bruise around her eye.
Edward FIndleton: Well last week The Executioness was knocked out, thanks to the wanted poster Lester had around the arena.
Eve Solace: There was a huge target on Elena’s head. She was hurt, but she looks just as ready!
The two competitors circle each other, eyeing each other up. They finally met up not with a traditional wrestling grapple, but with traded punches, which turned into elbows, kicks, knees, and eventually Lester gave a huge headbutt to Dubois, busting open both women’s foreheads.
Eve Solace: A minute into the match and already they’re bloody!
The match had very little wrestling, but a lot of brawling. Lester was tossing Dubois shoulder first into the ringpost repeatedly, then tried to mount Dubois for punches, but The Executioness spit her own blood into the face of The Marauder, stunning her, and giving Elena a chance to get back in the match.
The National Champion struck fast and hard, with a series of kicks and chokeholds to Lester, wearing her down. Dubois then got into the corner and wound her arm up, looking like she was getting ready for the Running European Uppercut. As Lester got up, Dubois charged her, but Lester caught her and hit the Spinebuster. Sophie Lester was hurt and weak, but managed to hook the lane. Dubois attempted a kick out but it was too late, a half second after the three count, and Lester became the new National Champion in a 7:13 match.
A bloody Sophie Lester looked exhausted and shocked as referee Brenda Moses handed her the title. Before she could even stand and celebrate, Jenna Ingram came out, marching down to the ring with a purpose. She got inside and pointed at the National Championship, then at herself.
Edward Findleton: Unfortunately for Dubois, it looks like Ingram’s attack did mean…she wanted a title shot as a deal.
Lester was exhausted, looking at Ingram, then the title she held. She didn’t hesitate and proceeded to blast Ingram in the face with the belt, before bending over and telling her she’ll never take it from her and walking off.
THE Casey Gains: Well…maybe the deal was off-th? But hey, Lest’h’er got what she wanted, the Nnational Championshipt.
Edward Findleton: You feeling better buddy? You sound a bit nasally and stuffed up from getting hit.
THE Casey Gains: My nose hurths, thanks.
Edward Findleton: Do you need another ice pack? Is it warm now? Or is it still cold?
THE Casey Gains: Cole.
Edward Findleton: That’s right Casey! Cole Arcane defends his title against Mitchell Row in a World Championship match, next!
The arena lights dimmed as rain began to fall at the top of the stage and lightning flashed, as Mitchell Row made his entrance. Cole Arcane followed, the World Championship belt around his waist, and taking his time to remove it as he got to the ring. After an intense staredown, referee Dennis Thompson rang the bell and the match was on
Cole Arcane came out swinging, but then once forcing Row into a defensive position, started applying arm bars and other holds to Row. When Row would overpower a hold, Arcane would quickly switch to a flurry of kicks to the shoulder and elbow of Row’s right arm, or drive it into the ring environment.
Edward Findleton: Looks like a clear strategy from Arcane at the start.
Eve Solace: Row’s greatest strength is literally his strength, and that right shoulder does the heavy lifting for his Fireman’s Carry Slam, and takes the brunt of the impact for his Spear.
Arcane’s techniques forced Row to implement new wrestling, who now started to incorporate more kicks into his strategy. Arcane stumbled back to the corner, and Row took his opportunity to line Arcane up for a Spear. He charged and jumped, but Arcane dodged it, and Row’s shoulder went straight into the ring post.
Mitchell Row was screaming in pain, but refusing to take a minute to breath. He tried to line up Arcane again for another Spear and ran right at him again. Arcane dodged a second time, but this time Row went right into Dennis Thompson, knocking the ref out cold on the mat.
THE Casey Gains: It doesn’t look good for Row, no rules got Arcane the title last month.
Arcane wasted no time taking advantage of this new scenario. He rolled out of the ring and quickly grabbed a steel chair from ringside. Row saw Arcane with a weapon in hand, and also rolled out, lifted up the ring apron, and grabbed a chair of his own. The two got into the ring and stood in opposite corners, Arcane ready to wield his chair, Row holding his in his single good arm.
The two men approached with weapons, and Arcane swung. Row purposely used his bad shoulder as a shield leaning into Arcane’s chair shot, and Row then swung his chair into the side of Arcane. Arcane recoiled in pain and dropped his weapon, as Row started to wildly do one arm chair shots to Cole Arcane. With the champion beaten to the ground, Row took his chair and placed it in the corner between the ropes, and once again looked ready to hit a Spear. This time to set up proved costly when Arcane grabbed his dropped chair, then quickly connected it to Row, knocking him down.
Arcane repeatedly hit chair shots to Row’s right shoulder, driving the steel in the arm with jab after jab. Feeling like he did enough damage, Arcane placed the chair on the mat, seeming to line up the chair’s position with their current location to perform a Running Bulldog.
Row slowly got to one knee, Arcane intently focused on him, and not focused on what was going on behind him. Ivy Clarke slid into the ring and immediately low blowed Cole Arcane. The champion doubled over in pain as Clarke flipped him off, then left the ring. Row took the opportunity to finally hit the Spear, driving Arcane right into the steel chair in the corner. Clarke shook Dennis Thompson who started to come to consciousness as Row covered, and after a slow three count, Mitchell Row was awarded the championship in a match spanning 14:19.
Row couldn’t celebrate, he was in too much pain, and Clarke didn’t either, she simply started walking to the ramp. She was then startled when she saw Harvey Allison and Strawberry Bates Hill running down the ramp, right past her and into the ring.
Edward Findleton: Row’s the new champion but what are these two doing here!?
Allison and Hill each grabbed one of the chairs used in the match, and started to attack both of Row’s arms. Row could hardly fight back, and Allison eventually grabbed Row’s right arm, and placed it inside a folded chair. Hill held down Row, as Allison climbed to middle rope. Harvey jumped and landed right on the arm, crushing it between the chair, Row writing on the mat in pain.
A smiling and proud Harvey Allison exited the ring and went up to the announcers desk, and yanked the headset off Edward Findleton.
Harvey Allison: Freezerman, I know you’re listening, watching… I am enacting clause 8C in my contract, a World Title match, next week at Throwdown, against Mitchell Row!
Allison tossed the headset back to Edward, as he happily walked to the back with Hill.
Eve Solace: Mitchell Row wins but…this was not how he imagined the night going.
THE Casey Gains: I’m not a doctor but he may have a broken arm or collarbone. Maybe I can get an insider scoop when we’re both at the hospital after the show tonight.
Edward Findleton: And you know who else might be at the hospital?
Casey sighed in defeat.
THE Casey Gains: Sally Larkin and Cate Stiles after their death match?
Edward Findleton: Sally Larkin and Cate Stiles after their death match! That main event is next, for the World Championship!
Cate Stiles came out to a very positive ovation from the fans, but the champion Sally Larkin had the same reaction. Both women were in opposite corners of the ring, taking it all in.
Eve Solace: The fans appear to be split 50/50 on this match!
THE Casey Gains: And this is truly 50/50. I honestly believe that if I had to bet who would win a one on one match, I think Cate Stiles would win 51 out of 100 times. But when you change it to a death match? …Maybe Sally Larkin is getting the 51.
Referee Brenda Moses held the World Championship up, then called for the bell. Immediately both women left the ring and went under the apron, throwing items in. Hammers, chairs, ice picks, a metal box, a heavy burlap sack, a board wrapped in barbed wire, gasoline, and more.
The ring was littered, and with that both women got back in and started brawling. Stiles was the first to gain control of the match, and wasted no time in getting the weapons involved. She irish whipped Larkin into the ropes, then back body dropped her right onto the board wrapped in barbed wire. Sally was definitely hurt by this and tangled in the barbed wire, trying to escape the metal.
Cate took this opportunity to possibly end the match, and went to grab Larkin’s foot for an Ankle Lock. This proved difficult due to the barbed wire, but she locked it in.
Edward Findleton: Sally Larkin is screaming in pain but this has to be hurting Cate Stiles too! I think her hands are bleeding!
Eve Solace: She couldn’t get a good grip on the barbed wire covered feet!
Cate was unable to apply full pressure, and Sally mustered strength in her feet to yank Stiles forward, who fell onto the barbed wire next to her. The two women then tried to trade blows, getting cut up in the process, but this time Larkin proved better, and was able to not only slow down Stiles, but escape the barbed wire. Larkin then went to the corner and picked up the burlap sack.
THE Casey Gains: That’s never a good thing to see in this match…
Larkin took the sack over to the downed Cate Stiles. Larkin then forced Cate’s mouth open with one hand, then opened the sack with the other, pouring thumbtacks into Cate’s mouth. Larkin then quickly lit a leg drop, right to Cate’s head. Stiles immediately thrashed around, finally getting out of the barbed wire, but not spitting out thumb tacks and blood.
Eve Solace: …I have to stop commentating. I honestly can’t watch the rest of this match.
Larkin was now dictating the pace of the match, and had moved to more powerful slams to start down Cate Stiles. With Stiles down, Larkin went back under the ring then pushed in a table that had a layer of light tubes on it, held in place by normal metal wires that all led back to a mounted battery back. Larkin set the table up then picked up Stiles, trying to suplex her onto the table, but Stiles countered, landing behind Sally and locking in a sleeper. Sally fell down to her knees but managed to shake Stiles off before she could go unconscious, but Larkin clearly needed a moment to recover, while Cate did not.
Cate rushed over to the pile of weapons, and grabbed a cat-o-ninetails. With Larkin on both knees, she started to whip Sally’s back repeatedly, large cuts forming with each lash. Stiles then went over to the metal box and opened it, pulling out a bottle of peroxide. She opened the cap, then started to pour across Larkin’s back.
THE Casey Gains: Eve, continue to NOT watch this match.
Stiles looked to end it here, and once again grabbed the ankle of Sally Larkin to get the Ankle Lock. Larkin looked like she might tap out, but Cate Stiles still seemed to struggle to get the proper grip, needing to readjust and cringing in pain trying to hold the foot with her already cut up hands. Larkin once again managed to push her away with a foot, forcing Cate into a corner as Sally hobbled to her feet. Cate rushed Sally, who caught her and moved right into the Tornado Bomb, slamming Cate Stiles through the electrified light tube table. The light tubes shattered, and Cate seemed to convulse as the electricity went through her. Sally went for the cover, and finally got the three count in 14:35.
Edward Findleton: And that…is the match. That is the death match. Sally Larkin retains.
THE Casey Gains: I don’t think HAW has seen anything like this, and I hope we never do again.
Eve Solace: I heard the last half of this match and all I know is, these two women literally gave it their all.
Edward Findleton: That is 100% true Eve. It doesn’t look like we’re ending Downtown Disaster with a triumph celebration, our last shots will be medical tending to these two great wrestlers. That’s all for tonight ladies and gentlemen, I’m Edward Findleton with Eve Solace and THE Casey Gains, and we’ll see you for Lockup and Throwdown as we get ready for HAW’s Summit of Success. Good night.
